Honestly, I think you need new wheels. Do you have the large Stoptech front brake caliper upgrade, or could you fit 17" wheels? You can get 17x9" FNO1R-C wheels for $159 a piece, or 17x9.5" Enkeis for ~$250 a piece. Then you can run your 275s at all 4-corners without worry. Hoosier even "OKs" their A6/R6 295-sized tires on a 9.5" wheel. If you want a cheap tire with great longevity in 17" size, I'd pick up a set of 275/40/17 Victoracers. How is that for screwing up your plan?!? They'd fit your Z32 also.

No, can't fit 17". I'm thinking about getting new front wheels, in the same size and style as my rears, which are 18 x 9.5, and then I could fit 265's all around.

PS Don't have a Z32, but I used to. 425 rwhp, fun car. Didn't handle as well as my G does, though.

I am confident you can run 275s on the 9.5" wheel without issue. I have 30-40 events (Thunderhill, Laguna Seca, etc.) on my 17x9.5" set-up with 275s, as well as 10 or 15 more with 275s on 9" tires. I'm not talking about putting 285s on 8" wheels, but I know many who run the 275 on 9.5" wheels.

Stock vs. stock, the G35/Z33 certainly outhandles a Z32. Our Z33 is bone stock minus Brembos and Hoosiers, and it's an absolute hoot on the road courses. My Z32 is all power, all 636rwhp of it, but I've only run it at about 475rwhp at the open tracks. Laguna Seca, at that power, really pushed my Stoptechs to the limit. All on 17x9.5" CCWs with 275 R5 Hoosiers all-around.

Your G35TT sounds like a hoot. Let us know what you end up with for a wheel/tire set-up, and how it feels once you hit the track.

I think I've decided on the Toyo R888;s, 255/35 on my front 18x8.5 and 275/35 on the rear 18x9.5

Those wheel and tire sizes all fall within the acceptable range, according to Toyo's website, and they fit under my fenders, as well, no rubbing.

Next track weekend is in about a month, so I will give a decent review.

Excellent choice on the brand and sizes. Please do post your review of the R888s. These are fairly new tires and reviews are rare.

I also agree that you have made a good choice.

I used my Nitto NT-01's for the first time this weekend. They feel much like the RA-1's that I've been using for years but with a slightly stiffer sidewall. They seem to be a touch faster than the RA-1's but it's hard to tell since I did't get to run both tires on the same day under the same conditions. It's nice to have choices.

Just curious -- did you purchased them shaved or still with full thread?

Nice choice !!! I've been wondering about those tires. There are those that wouldn't be caught with Nitto tires. I like those ones and can't understand the reason people don't like them. I've been on the fence for a bit because of what I've heard. But, seeing you run at Laguna Seca I know I can trust your recommendation on this stuff.

That's you right? I hope you don't mind me posting this up.

I bought them full tread. At the depth they come at, there was no tread squirm like a full tread RA-1. There is probably no rain traction like a full RA-1 either though. If they continue to trend like an RA-1, they will get about a second faster per lap as they wear in. Since they don't need to be shaved, it's a $20 savings per tire too.

That picture is partially me.. It's my old wing that I sold off last year when I had to remove it per NASA TT rules. My car is the wingless identical twin.

what "hot" pressures were you running the NT01's at?

I'm using them for the first time in a couple of weeks and am curious.

Still figuring it out but like the RA-1's I'm shooting for mid to high 30's hot.

has anyone tried the falken azenis rt-615's? the website doesn't really give any good info other than it has a 200 UTQG rating.

Up until last year, they were THE autox tire to have for the SCCA street class cars.
