would you reccomend for or against it, noises/ weird things dont matter to me, but was upgrading the lsd to the nismo and the 3.9 fd worth it?

I have been using the Nitto NT01's for the track and really like them. My group runs 30 minute sets and they hold up nicely for the entire set.
I maintained the staggered set up: 275 in the back, 255 in the front.
The one recommendation I would make is get a set of track wheels so you don't have to sacrifice for either DD or track.

From a recommendation of a member of my club, I picked up a set of MB Wheels "Competition" at America's tires for $140 each. They are decent looking. They aren't beautiful. They won't draw a crowd, but they are track wheels and come back covered with brake dust and rubber, so I don't care. Give them a shot. It will save your nice wheels for the street....and add life to your tires.

Good luck
Marc

Nitto NT-01s are great at the track. I used 275/35/18's all round for the last year.

But I would not use them for daily driving because apart from the poor wet weather issues, they are a very noisy tire. The whining would drive me nuts

...why would Nitto Invos be in your group of possible choices? all the rest of those are like club racer tires...Do the RT-615's, theyre hugely popular, great tires, and fairly inexpensive. I'm doin 275/35 Azenis next time I swap tires. the 4.08 gearing and LSD REALLY help HUGELY coming out of corners. traction improved 10 fold over an open diff. and its deeper in the powerband coming out of the same corners now too.

VDC ftl...base model with nismo lsd ftw. lol.

oh yeah, Sport compact car runs their project Z with 18x9.5 275/40 bridgestone g-force kd. also a great tire.
The g-force TA-KD is a BF Goodrich tire. Perhaps the stickiest street tire (as contrasted with DOT-R tire) out there. But very poor in wet conditions. So much so that the daily driver element would be potentially ruled out as a result. I would have to check but my failing memory was that it did not come in wheel diameter over 17 inches, or at least in sizes that would fit the G/Z set ups that are preferred.

Someone mentioned the noise on the Nitto NT-01, and I think that is a very good point. On the highway it sounds like a swarm of bees are surrounding you. The siping design and big tread blocks are contributing to that, and it is especially noisy on freeways with the rain grooves cut into the road surface.

I'm thinking about getting torques in the same size and if I get the tires I want, I'd have to run 245/40 in the front. I'd be thrilled if you could snap a few pics

Oh Yes , most definetly. I love the acceleration and our torqe allows me to run in tird gear around te slow hair pins and get a good pop off the turn.

Have you looked into the Toyo Proxes R1R or the R888?
You might want to consider investigating those offerings as Toyo has just initiated a discount/rebate program of $100 on a set of four.

If you run with speedventures.com and run NT01's bought thru discount direct you get $20 credit per tire at an event.
