Road Atlanta 3-16-08 Lightning race video highlights
Abbreviated the Sunday race video to cut out the dull parts, other wise enjoy.
5th out of 16 in class the enduro on Friday, lousy rain and "blowtenza's" street tires. 2nd overall and 2nd in class on Saturday’s sprint race, yet again in the rain and street tire. Sunday finally rolls around with dry skies and lead from about the 4-5th lap to the checker for an overall win in the sprint race.

great driving and results.
good to see a Z racing.
i'm hoping to join (nasa) in june if money and time allows.
hope to see at the track and learn/get some advice as well.

Will try and answer these questions best I can. The Z is owned by John Davidson; we formed a team late last year to share her. Expect some more vids in a few weeks with both of us driving; unfortunately John’s schedule conflicted with the last races so it was a long 3 hours in the rain!

Dayton you can always dip your toes in the water in a hpde group such as NASA, Triangle Z Club event or seat-time. Then you too will be hooked like your on heroin!
Yep Billhyco just stock gears
jmark it’s prepped a shade stronger than T2 rules. PT classes are based on points for x mod. Our thought was to spread a little love everywhere and go from there. This was it’s first race with no prep time other than a best guess while still in the garage.
07Jimmyz, the s2k driver made a minor mistake after I passed him for the second time. Our exit speeds at the top of the esses were a good 5-6 mph faster and he over stepped the limits of tracking trying to keep up. He is going to be fast and is a good clean racer. Unfortunately he runs H1 (Honda challenge series) and I’m trying to talk him into our class, PTB.

I did not have a chance to talk to him after the race, but before hand Nasa decided to start the honda challenge car group in front of us, we (a friend with a ffr cobra and I) spoke to all the honda guys and told them we would pass them on the start on the outside.
Well in the video you can see he saw me and moved to the left. Then I move forward and have my front bumper at his passenger door and he decided to come over on me. I made as much room as possible by driving on the grass but at some point our two line have to interact.
So I just let him turn into me and carried on. Filled out an incident report after the race which will go in his record so if he keeps having conflict on track he will loose his comp license.

Very nice lines thru all the corners. Next time go into turn one a little faster and remember that the turn will catch you, its slightly cambered in your favor and its uphill so there is more speed to be found there. Also some great passes. Next time you come up on a guy at 6 and 7 back off just a little between the turns so you can get on the gas quicker at 7 and be on the car in fronts bumper with more speed to make a quicker pass. Great job though, did you win class?

jmark our next event will be at cmp on the 4-6th? I sold the cobra in December when we struck a deal with John. Funny thing is we almost ran the same times to the tenth in both cars.

lol, i got a roadster though, i know how the safety ***** are about rollovers
