as promised, finally the car is here and some pics from this past weekend at VIR. the weekend went quite well thankfully. We spend ALL day Saturday prepping and finally got it on track Sunday. Brakes held up nicely, engine ran strong, only problem we had was some overheating issues. I think we are going to drain it all this week, fill it with distilled water and some water wetter. Wish there was something going on in Sept. Next track day isn't until Oct at CMP. Gives me tinker time I suppose.

Bill you are going to be suprised at the improvements at CMP. We ran a T3 car there last weekend at the national race and they now have garages, new tech area, the old tech area is now a gathering spot for workers and the worker party, painted guardrails grey, painted tire walls green and built another bathroom area. Whole place looks better. Have fun down there and keep the VIR national on your schedule for next spring. We will probably run two cars again. Bob
BTW we now have a couple sets of 225 and 245 x 17" take off tires for other guys.

i forgot about the scca event, i think its only a one day but that will be ok. we REALLY need to get some test/tune laps on this car.
i am really excited about CMP, hate its only going to be another one day event for us but sure to be a good time regardless.

I was there (in the instructor group) in this:
I didn't have a student in your group, so I didn't get to watch you fly by from the right seat of the car, but you looked pretty darn fast when viewed from the infield.
I meant to come say hi (we met once before at VIR-South at an SVT Mustang event), but a one-day event with two students kept me hopping.

the car felt decent that day. we were struggling with a over heating issue previously so we were watching that pretty closely. well that and a exhaust collector that didn't want to cooperate. i have a shorter set of gears for tracks like the Rock but just for a PDX it wasn't worth all the work for me. Would have gotten around the infield a little better but thanks regardless.
I wish you would have come by...we got there a little late so we were half way down the second set of garages. I met a few people at the SVT event but I was in my Z at the time. There was someone parked beside me in a BMW, was that you????

Nah...I was about 1/2 way down the first set of garages. I was standing right there as you guys were going down the tech line, but it didn't occur to me that it might have been you until after lunch.

Here's a link to a good deal on a Miata, already partially track-prepped:
http://dixierally.org/forum/forum_po...?TID=1086&PN=1
Car is in North GA.... the guy selling is a good dude, very easy to deal with too. Take a look, it leaves PLENTY of room in your budget for future tweaks, beer funds, and illicit lap dances... Tell him I sent ya!
Brian Flanagan
Yeah, I'm new here...
