i probably know the answer to this question.. but just throwing this out there..
from a recent stint at Streets of willow.. 3 of my 4 wheels (my beloved RE30s none-the-less
) now have grooves shaved into them thanks to pebbles/rocks stuck inbetween my calipers and the barrel of the rim...
prbably just one of my bad-luck cases.. but anyone else suffer the same problem? i guess just live with it?

Possibly put something on the caliper (strip of rubber, thick tape, etc.) that will fill the space between the caliper and rim to prevent rocks from getting in there but is soft/flexible/spongy enough not to cause drag/wear on the rim. Of course, you don't want it to melt either.
Billy is a superb driver. He took my car around Streets in 1:23 and change. If he did not go off and you got scoring on your rims...........are you sure it is pebbles? Did you look at the calipers carefully and determine whether they might have been making contact themselves with a distortion/flex of hub and wheel under extreme cornering pressures?
Let me ask a question. Assuming you were running clockwise full course with the bowl and the bypass........was the wheel unscored the inside right rear? Was the worst the front left?
