Quick update about Sunday...

While I wasn't able to set up any driving activities, I was able to set up a chalk talk with Peter Krause from Krause & Associates. Peter will spend about an hour, starting at 5:00pm on Sunday night, discussing VIR and all its nuances. Peter quite literally has more laps around VIR than anyone. His presentation will include video and handouts... basically a virtual course walk.

It is open to all attendees, and is included in the entry fee.

Another quick announcement... Momentum Performance has signed on to present the Krause & Associates seminar Sunday evening at 5:00. We will be providing refreshments free of charge (coffee, hot chocolate, soft drinks.)

Bobby and crew will be their early to show off their wares, and will also be talking to any interested party in their VP sales position that they are looking to fill. For more information, go to www.momentumperformance.com or click here: http://momentumperformance.com/wp-co...ds/vpsales.pdf

Well that would be a huge change from the norm......several events I have been to (usually VIR), I have one of the very few 350Z's in attendance.
Now I'm looking forward to Nov 30 even more!!!!!!!!!!!!

not all the Z's are 350Z. We have a couple of 240Z, a 300ZX, and I think a 370Z.

I think Roddy will be there in one of the fastest N/A 240Z's around.

Let me see if I have this straight. Here is a track day where you get the chance to learn from Peter Krause and Chuck Hawks and it is not full. People have no idea what they are missing!

All things considered... it went pretty well! It was definitely wet and treacherous out there... Only had two "major" incidents (My definition of major is any damage to a vehicle on track) both in the same spot on the track...

Word of Advice to EVERYONE going to VIR... if it is wet, do NOT get on the power early exiting turn 5a into turn 6!! That section has always been notorious and dangerous for collecting cars in the tire walls, but ever since they ground and re-sealed certain sections of the track this past winter, that section has gone from "dangerous to treacherous" in the wet. It collected two cars yesterday morning after it started raining. Both were snap-oversteer situations, in our opinion caused by the transition from sealed(grippy) to non-sealed(slippery) just before T6 (very short section that should have been ground and sealed when they did that section but wasn't.) Again, in the dry, you don't notice it, but when it's wet, there is ADDED grip IN the turn, but LESS grip exiting the turn, EXACTLY when you want to (should) add power.

... ANYWAY... otherwise I think the event went off very well. The changing conditions created some real challenges, but I think everyone that braved them handle them well. Big thanks to Momentum and CIN Motorsports for bringing their crews out and having a good time. I think we got some more people hooked, and I think everyone learned a lot.
