Default NEED HELP! Going into safe mode at HPDE

Hey guys, I need some help. I am going into limp mode. I get codes 1229 and 1446. I cleared the codes and they came back on the next run. Is there anything I can do?? Should I leave the codes so I don't go into safe mode. I am at a hotel and won't be able to check this untill later. ANY HELP would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

1229 is related to sensor power supply, it can be for the accelerator pedal position sensor, the EVAP control sensor, the power steering sensor or refrigerant pressure sensor.

1446 is related to the EVAP canister vent control valve. Thats the valve mounted under the tail end of the car. According to the FSM, some of the causes are:

 EVAP canister vent control valve
 EVAP control system pressure sensor
and the circuit
Blocked rubber tube to EVAP canister
vent control valve
EVAP canister is saturated with water

I'd check that out first.

Thanks Davd, it sounds like I need a new EVAP canister vent control valve. I checked everything last night and the lines were clear and the valve rust free.

I can't get the valve right away. Do you think I should leave the check engine light on and run? That way it doesn't go back into safe mode when it finds the error.

That's a tough call. Unlike driving it slow and carefull down the highway, you'll be pushing the car hard. If everything is running smooth, you might be okay taking a chance.

Dave, I left the check engine light on and was able to run tody without any problems. I appreciate you looking into the codes.

Thanks,
Nick
