Default Differential Temperature Sensor Location

I am adding a differential cooler and want to also add a temperature sensor. I have run out of location and plan to drill and tap the finned Nismo cover. Has anyone done this yet and if so where did you locate the sensor.

Thanks

Ray

Search around the Drivertrain forum, there is a thread there by somebody that added a diff cooler setup. If I remember correctly, he added a temp sensor to control the on/off of the pump.

Check this thread... its a sale thread but it may be good for ideal or maybe they have a similar kit for the 350 you'd like.

IMHO, keep it simple and just run a toggle switch on the dash. Warm up lap: turn pump on. Cool down lap: turn pump off. Leave it off everywhere else.

If you're going to run a cooler then its best to measure the oil temps coming back into the diff from the cooler. Plumb a "T" fitting in the AN line or the cooler outlet and put a temp sensor there.

Regarding threading the diff cover; its best to drill a hole in the diff cover and weld a nut with the proper threads over the hole. http://www.mcmaster.com/#aluminum-hex-nuts/=5ukc8d

I was also going to do that also. I have a An8 adapter with a 1/8 NPT thread and found when I went to install the 1/8 NPT Auto Meter sensor it was too long. Now I am scrambling to find a "T" to plumb into the hose I built this weekend. The options to get to 1/8 NPT is very conviluted. I was just going to install and now I looking for alternates.
