When I left yesterday the GTR's were ruling. I believe Lock's Cobb GTR was fastest and Cronin was close in either the Z or the GTR (annoucer was unsure which car but said Cronin ran a 1:45.xx). Didn't get a chance to see the J's S2k, but it looked fast. The K&N G35 seemed a little off on the ignition/fuel tuning (massivie backfire or possible mis-fire) and the chassis looked like they were still dialing-it-in at mid day. But nothing looked like it would be too hard to sort out. Today should be an interesting day for the overall in each class.
No problem, i ran 275/40-17 front and 275/40-18 rear, and set my suspension where i had 10mm of clearance on the 3.5 inch rule. I didn't feel like wrenching at the track in a mad scramble to pass tech.
I ended up with a 2:03.7 best lap, had no problems with timing. I did have problems with overheating the front tires because of turns 1 and 2 then the heavy braking into 3. I did start to get brake fad, probably overheated into 3 (cooling ducts are next). It was a great time, i'm sure i have more time to gain in both driving and car setup. I'll have brake ducts for Willow and am going to see what i can do for installing my Motordyne Y pipe for a couple extra HP.
BTW, thank you for the pics, and how did it sound out there. That was the Motordyne Shockwave with stock cats and stock Y pipe.

Pretty loud considering that setup, but it sounded pretty nice as well. If you want a good reference Z time you may be able to find a guy named Scott from some of last years (or earlier this year) events at California speedway. Sorry I cant remember his last name, but he drives a pretty stock Nismo with sticky rubber and gets to most of the events in the area (Cali Speedway and Willow) and has pretty solid lapping.
high 80's low 90's , no cloud cover , track surface really freaking hot. Lap times cam down for everyone the second time attack session cause the wind picked up and cooled the track.
Change your pad compound first, I have never gotten fade there and have no ducts...Try Raybestos ST-41/ST-43, Ferodo DS3000 or Hawk DTC-60/70 if available. What fluid are you using????
