I recently replaced my Bridgestone Potenza RE50A's with some Advan Sports and at the moment I am not as happy with them as the Potenzas. I do HPDE road course events mostly with my Z, so I could care less about how they do in rain and snow. These tires just don't seem to grip as well. The first time out on them, the pressures went way too high. I brought them down to 36 while they were still hot. It got a lot better, but still not as good as the Bridgestones (IMO). I have read a lot of posts on here about people prefering the Advan Sports over the Potenzas and thats what made me make the choice. I understand that it is peoples opinions, but I figured out of all the posts that I had read someone had to know what they were talking about. Anyway...I have another event at the end of the month at Mid Ohio. I am curious to know what kind of tire pressures some of you have run at the track with these. The rear is 275/35/19 and front is 245/40/19. When I burn these up, I am finally going to make the switch to r-comps, but these are pretty much new, so I got to make the best of them until then.
Thanks
Thanks

I haven't really heard much of anyone on the advan sports.....most run the AD08's (or 07's). Probably be forced to trial and error for the short term, and see what works best for you. On paper....180 tread wear, etc they seem better than the bridgestones, but that is very subjective.

I agree. The Bridgestones has 140 treadwear I think which is the lowest you can go I think before R-comp. I'm going to let a little more pressure out when I go to Mid Ohio again and see what happens.

I really wanted the AD08's, but I was already breaking the bank on the Advan Sports. The AD08's were about 200 more I think.
About the 140 treadwear thing. I have heard that treadwear isn't really consistent with all manufacturers. Is this true?
Also, I thought a lot of guys were using the Advan Sports. I'll let you know how they do.
I also heard that sometimes street tires need about 1k miles or so on them before they really start to grip.
