What dif fluid used for clutch type lsd?
Been running Motul PA90 ever since i had my nismo lsd installed, noticed that ive been overheating the fluid and cant afford a dif cooler at the moment and was curious what everyone else was using. Been leaning towards trying out torco heard alot of good things about them, but wanted to see what people use for track use. Thanks
I am running Redline 75-90, but I need to step it up to a heavier weight since I've been doing more racing. I was considering the AMSoil. Heard a lot of good things about them.
I run the PA90 with the finned diff cover without issue:

I've found I have to change the fluid every few events though.

i have the nismo finned dif cover as well and change my fluid after every other event, but noticed it overheating on some of the smaller more technical tracks ie streets of willow.
How can you tell it was overheating? I do get some blowoff sometimes, but typically attribute that to me overfilling it when I change the fluid (since I have the car jacked up in the rear).
usually happens near end of the session in the afternoon, but when i do a left to right or vice versa turn transition i hear a loud thunk noise when the car shifts weight, sounds and feels like the diff, so was going to try different fluids to verify.
I had bad experience with Royal Purple, Nismo fluid is so-so, and Motul has been very good. I don't know about overheating, just in terms of noise and smoothness. What are you guys doing to overheat your fluid? I run in AZ and NM in 100 degree weather for 15-20 minute sessions and never have a problem. I only have a Nismo diff cover.
