More pics and certainly video to come, but this is what we have so far. I had my first off-track experience in about 6 years while pushing the Green Machine a little harder every lap during an extra session in the OPEN run group with a race-bred instructor, netting my fastest lap ever there. Laguna Seca is completely enclosed with walls, so I was lucky to get out of it this easily. A new wheel, a couple new tires, and some elbow grease and the Z will be as good as new!

Was a fun day! Hoping next time I go out there I can get a little instruction.

Here's a video I took during the 2nd session.. Cut it so that it was mostly of the part behind the supercharged Z. I have more video from the 5th session which I need to look through.. camera didn't work for the 3rd and 4th.

Your line looks pretty good, Anthony! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to ride-along with you, but this vid shows that you picked it up very well (Forza!). You'll be in the 1:50-55 range in no time! Do you run one brake compound all the time or change for track events?

 

Thanks! I swapped to a set of Hawk HP+ for Laguna. I probably should go with a more aggressive compound next time. I'm typically using the Stoptech street pads for everything else.

Looks like you got through there a-ok. What's with the Honda owners that can't keep it off of the rev-limiter? Anyway, is that who started that cluster? It looked like he took the inside and maybe put part of the car off track to make the early rev-limiting pass.

 

Honda #413 on my left at the start went 2 wheels off, then hit the big Gator/Berm at the entrance to T1 (hard 94 deg left hander) locked the brakes then took out the poll sitting cars, who took out the car in front of me...

I missed all of them but the guy behind me didn't have much room, but managed to not rear-end me.


Remember it is legal to drive/pass 2 wheels off in NASA...
