Spacers are OK as long as the final offset of wheels and spacers is within the rules (0.25 inch of stock).

What are the spring rates on the nismo?

You are going to want more tire than 265/295. 295/315 or bigger is the way to go if you can get enough space. Spacers are OK, but 5mm is about the limit.

Fronts are about 8.5kg (linear) and rear is a progressive 12 kg on the 350z Nismo, on the 370 Nismo 7.6 Kg and 8.6 Kg(per the references I found).

However, the 370 info is unverified.

Not sure what the rates are? Anyone know of a site that might have specific technical data on spring rates, swaybar sizes etc?

It appears I'm one of the first to run a Nismo in BS with biggest tires that will fit? I really worry about 295 and 315 after looking at how much room I have. I have fallen for suggestions that big tires fit on other cars only to find they dont sometimes. I was hoping to find somone who has already tried fitting big 19 inch A6's on a Nismo. Unsure that I can go with what people have done on 18 wheels with standard 370Z. Isnt my Nismo a little lower as well? 265 in front is still a real big tire for a stock car. I know that I want the biggest tire possible but I dont want to trash the fenders or rub suspension components either. From eyeballing things it looks like a 265 up front will work. 295 might be a little too much?

Maybe you can look around for someone with some corded 295's and mount them.....see how it looks. Finding some in 19's may be tough though.

Here is my suggestion:
Get a pair of the 295s, test fit them on the front. If they work - superb. If they don't, use them on the rear and get the 265s for the front. Cheers.

That works! Im lazy though. I was thinking that somone must have tried this on a Nismo before me? The car has been out for like 2 years right? Here I thought I was buying a car that people had done some AXing with. Its like my Boxster - I was one of the first guys to run 15" diameter slicks on the Boxster but it took tons of testing working with spacers, alignment wheels to get it to work. I was really hoping the Z would be more straight forward and for me not to be blazing setup trails. LOL! I guess I'm doomed to be guy who spends money on stuff that may or may not work.

Man those 19 Hoosiers are spendy too! $330! Ouch! Thats more than my race slicks that I have imported from Europe for the Porsche! And only Hoosier makes 19 sizes for DOT R tires that I see so far. I was thinking maybe going with Nitto NTo1 on a single set of wheels to start. They dont make NTo1 in sizes to fit the Nismo wheels. Argh

Treaded R-comps won't be competitive in the least unfortunately.

Yeah I know but it would be cheaper until I transition out of the FP car. Id probably still run the Boxster at SD NT.

Nitto is a good intermediate tire that can be driven on the street and offer a little more grip than streets at AX events. If I drag the Nismo to a national event then I'd have two sets of A6's ready to go. Oh crap what do I do for wet events? Wonder if Kuhmo makes their rain tire in 19?

One more silly question? What do you guys do for numbers with aluminum doors? I have always used magnetic numbers?

Thanks for all your feedback so far!

Grant

might as well run an ST tire, the NT01's and R888's ive driven on other peoples cars didnt feel like they had all that much more grip than Star Specs at autox temps. That 350 bucks a pop is gonna hurt, I paid ~$330 for the 285 V710's I ran, but they lasted alot longer than A6's that you can't rotate will - you must be a glutton for punishment

The Vette guys I know used reusable Vinyl numbers. soloperformance.com

Uh yeah. Although have to admit I wasnt thinking about cost of 19 inch wheels and tires. Although I run through 3 sets of slicks that cost $300 each every season on the FP car. Suspect I could squeeze a season out of two sets of A6's.

if you keep that slip angle in check

dont forget to budget some in for brake pads, they will help massively with the added grip from big, sticky R-comps up front. I've used Carbotech XP8's and lubbed' em'

R888 295/30-19 does fit the front, but for some odd reason you keep suggesting a 295 will not fit.

Can you confirm 295/30/19 Hoosier on a stock Nismo wheel fits with no issue? I'm skeptical that a 295 will fit without non stock legal offset. I'm running the car in stock class and can't change stock offset more than .25. Do yo have a Nismo with 295 on stock front wheel with a spacer less than .25? No rubbing on front fender or suspension on the inside? Up to this point no one has really been able to confirm?

Is there a 370z site that has more motorsports enthusiasts? I have tried this site and the 370z site. Are there others more focused on track and AX?

"Everybody" is flocking towards the S2KCR in BS, and the MX-R MS-R in CS because some people have had success with them.

It's the lemming effect -- plus Mazda money in the case of the MS-R.

Its the STR effect. STR is the new hot class and what works there tends to be reflected in other classes where the car mix is similar.

What offsets is the Forged 370 running? If I remember correctly they fitted 305's up front.

I'm not much for lemming approach. I have driven my much less capable 350Z Roadster on soft Yokohama street tires in BS ( we have an organization that uses old SCCA classifications) I did OK in that car in BS. I suspect at a local level I will do OK in the Nismo on Hoosiers. Jury is still out on wether I drive the car at a National event. I do love my little FP car. Its an underdog too but it surprised a few people in San Diego when on first day my co-driver posted fastest FP time.

Can the 370Z Nismo run in STR? I havent checked that! I think as a street tire car its very capable. And it would be a lot cheaper for me! I have seat time in MX5 and they are very capable cars. However on some courses I think I could beat a MX5 with the Nissan. The S200 CR Hondas are very tough - I'd be happy to meet performance of those cars in the Nismo in BS. I'm the type of guy that will take what I have and make it work. I still suspect a well driven Nismo on big Hoosiers wont be slow. Maybe not a class winner but certainly right there in podium running with the right driver at the wheel. Especially on courses that put premium on torque.

I will also be taking this car to PCA events which will be fun as its always fun to beat up on Porsches in a rival marquee.

The 370z isn't eligible for STR....

The nismo's weight and the crap VLSD will be the factors that keep it below the CR in my opinion. Just get the 295/315 A6's, Front Bar, and a good set of dampers. You would do pretty well locally I would imagine......perhaps even surprise a few at an NT event.
