Buttonwillow Raceway 4/2-4/3 with NCRC
A few pics from the NCRC (www.ncracing.org) event held at Buttonwillow over 4/2-4/3/11.
Good to see a bunch of Zs out there tearing it up, including a few newer drivers to Zs. No vids this time, as my wife had the camera for another trip that she was on. I took the advice from you guys in an earlier thread, suggesting I try the A6 Hoosiers over the R6 Hoosiers since it was a cool day out. I thoroughly enjoyed that they were sticky from the onset from when I hit the track, but the high-wear ones (driver's front) started to grease by 20 minutes. I'd probably put an R6 in that corner if this opportunity arose again.
I used both my RaceLogic datalogger and HotLapper to manage a 2:07:58 for configuration 13CW, which bests my 2:09.xx from last time (https://my350z.com/forum/8601121-post219.html). There is certainly improvements to be had in both the braking zones and some of the high speed transitions. I'm not a huge fan of these PF97 pads, but I had them from brand new so decided to use them up. I have a new set of Raybestos pads ready for the next event. Anyway, from what I'm told, both my previous and current best times are pretty slow, but you can see the sort of cars that were in our group: Race-prepped S2ks, Miatas, and M3s, etc. Maybe that all depends on who you ask!
The double-down 350Z ran 1:56.xx!
Trailered-up and ready for the drive down south:

Here was a part of our group:

Pits (I ran R888 tires on SSR Comps for part of day 1, then A6 Hoosiers on RPF1s for the 2nd part of day 1 and all of day 2):

Slightly outpowered in the grid:

This isn't much better:

One, insanely fast, Porsche 911:

Zs in their habitat:

Giving some instruction:

and some in-car instruction with the same new Z owner:

The GreenZ has some new vinyl:

This guy runs our local autox series with us as well (so does the sunset orange Z). He was on a set of 275/17 R888s that are in need of replacement:

Another friend getting caught up in the dreaded "sunset" turn. Both she and the gray 350Z went off here. I went off there years ago in my 300 when I was new to this track, too!

All-in-all it was a great weekend, and I logged about 275 track miles. Now to shoot for that sub 2:05s lap, good times.

Awesome pictures Scott! Good lap times too, a little bit more and you'll be doing sub 2's at BW! That's a wild color for a 350z, I like it. How much power are you running?
The Z makes ~260rwhp on 91 octane, and 272rwhp on 100. I usually just run 91 now though. I thought heavily about adding some F/I power, but I enjoy the N/A reliability.
