Back from Infineon. Need help fine tuning
I'll run -3.0 on the track but this is also my daily driver and would like to keep the front at -2.0 when on the street.
Everybody will say run two sets of wheels, two sets of rotors, and two sets of pads but I like being able to drive to the track as-is, race the hell out of the car, then drive to work the next day. That means making some sacrifices on tires.

You can run the 285 RS3 on the front 9.5 +15, which I still do as well, but I think the 265 is a better fit especially when balanced with the same size rear tire. Are you 9.5FR/10.5RR? You could change to 285 front, but I don't think it'd be worthwhile (however, if you want to swap a set of 285 RS3s for your pair of 265 RS3s, I'd be down for that), and the 309 pad does allow you to drive a 85/90% (that's a relative number) at the track and still drive on the street. Pads like that did not exist many years ago. I'd def'ly make the bar adjustments as were prescribed earlier.
When on a square set-up of sticky tires (V710, Hoosier), my car was nicely balanced with a touch of oversteer, but when on square 285 RS3s and nothing else changed, it did push a bit on corner entry and track out. The RS3 - when newer - is a fantastic tire. I'm finding their grip to finally reduce now, and they are a few seconds slower than a lightly-used set of Hoosiers (2:00 at T-hill on used Hoosiers, 2:06 at T-hill on used RS3s), but when they were new, they were very close in time to used Hohos (at Laguna Seca). I did run both tires at Infineon, but don't recall the times (could look it up).
Come out with NASA mid-June, and we can toy with your settings if you like.
I used to LOVE being able to drive my car to the track, beat on it, then drive home. At some point, I still had a second set of wheels/tires that I would change at home to drive up on, track, then drive home on.

My RS3s were brand new. Literally...I bought them the day before the race. I didn't heat cycle them and I spun out on my first lap! Break in your tires, kids. After that they warmed up they rocked.
Yep, I'm 9.5F/10.5R. If you were pushing on a 285/285 setup then it sounds like it won't me much either. Changing my sway bars and camber will help my understeer the most.
What's your best time at Infineon? I thought I saw you post a 1:54 somewhere. I'll ask the wife if we can go back to Infineon in June.
We raced at Infineon on Saturday and drove around Napa/Sonoma in my car until Tuesday. Made a great vacation out of it. Almost 700 miles in 4 days, including 1.5 hard hours on the track. Gas stations love me.

Carbotech is a good pad you can run on the street and track. I've been running my XP10/8 setup since like April/2011 and have never had a problem. Rain, dry, whatever. Drive to the track, have fun and go home. I do spend a lot more time detailing my wheels now though :/
