Close call for that guy, carbon monoxide poisoning can happen in under 5 min in a car.

Wow, scary for sure. Auto-locking doors should be bypassed during track events imo.

This is why at most US based track events you are required to keep your windows rolled down.

There were a bunch of red flags happening, but I am really surprised that he kept going after smelling gas.

Having raced lots of old Datsuns, I've learned to recognize the onset of carbon monoxide poisoning. Its real subtle and the first sign is irritation and small mistakes in your driving.

He's very lucky that the worst "accident" he had was that close encounter with the wall. He could have very easily hurt himself or another driver pretty bad.

I've never worried about CO poisoning in a moving vehicle, but the thought of a fire is always in my mind when I smell raw fuel. He claims in the video that smelling fuel in old mid engine cars is normal... No idea how true that is, since my experience with mid engine cars has been with new vehicle and early 90s NSX's that were in mint condition.

I noticed that, as well as a few noob mistakes in his driving. I have a feeling he's not very experienced. Still, that's not an excuse to be unsafe.

Like the hand on the shifter the whole time.

As we saw in the video and I've experienced in a moving vehicle with the windows down, carbon monoxide is a real issue. NASCAR was having serious problems with it until the driver's started going to fresh air system. Every closed car driver in ALMS runs a fresh air system.

it's funny, you guys mentioned he's not very experienced, yet the event he went to seem like a w2w event...... the europeans must be more lenient(sp?) than here in the US, which guess depending on who u ask, it's a good thing?

I personally can't say I'm ready for that kinda events.......

They are very lenient because they don't have the same frivolous judicial system we do here. You can go pay xxx amount at the 'ring and run as fast as you want with open passing straight off the street.
