Default Fender Liners

Do you run them?

I was black flagged this weekend because my passenger fender liner tore out and landed on track - I guess after my brake ducting install some high pressure air got in their and pushed it into my tire which eventually ripped it out.

Now...I used to NOT run fender liners; then I broke the back casings of my headlights (still a street car) and was tired of all the road grime, rubber, water and crap being chucked up into the engine bay.

So I installed them again; now I have this issue. Id prefer not to run them; I just dont want to replace headlights again.

They should not be just falling out. Find the cause of them tearing out (sounds like it's your brake ducting) and fix it. With all the crap the tires kick up, not having them is just asking for trouble.

No seriously, were they really zip tied in before they fell out? Honestly, mine are not fully captured by the front bumper and have 2 screws missing and they hold up to Cal Speedway's Roval straight (top of fifth gear). Its pretty stout and trouble free even when it not attached perfect. I suspect something in the installation.

Nah it was screwed in and had all the buttons except the bottom (which is what I ziptie in place); I assume something failed and the high pressure caught it.

I use very flexable thin sheet metal and have them screwed in.

the pictures of mine won't help much, but I can say they were not hard to make. I would take the existing liners and use as a template. Then go to lowes or Home Depot and get the thinnest sheet metal there. Then cut to match.

When you use sheet metal what do you use to hold it in place?
