Don't know if that is an issue or not.
I have a Kirk bar in my car, ordered it from John at Betamotorsports ( i highly suggest calling hime for more info and ordering from him if you decide to get one) The main hoop is semi close to my head, i am tall 6'1, and i just wrapped the hoop around my head with proper roll bar padding. The padding would be easier on my head than the headliner in a street accident without a helmet. If you arnt as tall, there are no worries at all. I'll see if i can post pics when in get home.

Fine there is some give and take with any choice you take.... Personally, I would go with a bolt-in Kirk Roll bar over a bolt-in harness bar.

if I was you, I would just go ahead and gut the car, install a full cage and fire system. You are going to end there sooner or later.
