In case you have heard, Goodyear is no longer going to make most, if not all, tires and sizes from their amateur racing line of tires. This includes the DOT Radials in both road racing and autocross compounds. It appears that they will also no longer be supporting many, if not most, bias ply slicks as well. This is pretty sad news. It will likely keep motivation low for Hoosier to finally release the A/R7 line, and I'd expect when they do, that the price will again increase substantially. It is nice that BFG has again joined the fight in the DOT race tire market, but it won't help the bias ply community in the various prepared, open wheel, etc crowd.

Hoosier already has as a stranglehold on the DOT race tire market. They won't be overly inclined to come out with something that is quicker unless pushed by another tire manufacturer. The R/A7 has already been tested, etc..
I found it weird announcement. I still see Good Year DOTR Autocross compounds on sale? Has anyone independently confirmed where Good Year is exiting?
Good Year had already for most practical purposes exited solo compound support a few years ago. Yes the golden boys and girls could get tires in sizes they wanted but us mere mortals faced long waits, back orders etc. I moved to Avon and Hoosier slicks 3 years ago as I got frustrated with Good Year support.
