OLOA 2013 SSGT2 Big Bore Champions
Some of you know a friend and I did the One Lap of America this year.
I know it wasn't in a z, rather it was in my Boss Mustang. We ran it 100% stock, save for swapping to Michelin PSS tires as per the rules and we were still able to win our class and finish 11th overall.
We recorded mostly top 20 finishes all week with a few top 10s thrown in. I was able to pilot the car to 7th overall at Beave Run in the wet.
The last event, the dry skid pad, the car truly went beyond expectations. we needed a 5th place finish in class to secure the win. Instead we took the win with an impressive 1.028g. Good enough for 11th in the event.
Our class competition had some impressive hardware. I'll post pics later. But our two biggest competitors were two raced prepped Camaros. One was prepped and driven by Detroit Speed Inc. Kyle Tucker the owner and a professional driver drove the car with his co-driver Ryan. This car is beast and is extremely fast.
If you haven't competed in this event or come to watch when they are in town, I highly suggest you add it to your bucket list, its a blast

Entry fee is $3000
Hotels were covered by sponsors ranging from $45 to $85/night.
Averaged about 20mpg the whole trip and $3.85/gal gas. 3500, you can do the math.
Regardless of money, this event is so worthwhile. Anyone who does track days will tell, half the fun of being at the track is meeting and hanging out with people. Think of this event as a huge road trip with time trials at some great race tracks, drag racing and autocrossing.
