HA, I dont need a passenger seat to drive the miata! I only drive from the drivers seat

Actually the falkens are really good in the wet weather, at least on public roads, I havent driven them in wet track weather yet, and not sure I'd want to.

Cameron, I could be wrong, but the WC guys runs with RA1s, not T1S'. Street tires won't hold up after 10+ laps at the way they drive... no way...
Actually the touring guys have run on T1-S tires for a few years now. They jsut made the switch to RA-1s this year. From what I've heard, there was a lot of complaining among the teams. To get the best times, they basically had to shave them to nothing, and at that point they'd last a session. Perhaps.

Some of us call it the deer hunter....It even wheres Camofloge red.
Hey! I...uh..resemble that remark. Or at least my car does...

Looking forward to checking out your new and improved 'ride'. I would offer to let you drive the miata on track, but, it doesn't have a passenger seat. Maybe you can drive it around the skidpad or something. It's like a big go-kart. The guys at Road Atlanta last year were pulling 1.65gs in the turns on the new Hoosiers. That's some serious g. Just goes to show you that a lot of what makes a good track car is its weight. The miata is 2300lbs with driver.
I can believe it. At my first HPDE, my instructor took me for a rice in his SM, and I thought my eyeballs were going to pop out of my skull.

The Flyin Scot forgot to mention that he needs the approval of his crew chief before he lets Nissan enthusiasts check out our MazdaSpeed Motorsport tuned first place finishing 2004 southeast championship contender, 2004 future ARRC winner and the best of what Team Skoa could come out with.

Yes, there is an event in April, too.

Here are a few links for you that should give you all you need:

Triangle Z Club

Tarheel Sports Car Club

Virginia International Raceway

Good choices all around.

I am going to try to come up on Sunday, just to check how things are going.

And warm (for mid-Feb). Highs likely in the low 50s. A nice break from the string of cloudy/40 degree days we've had here.

Can't wait. I'm going to the garage to start preping the car right now.

Is everybody staying at the Ramada? I procrastinated, and have yet to reserve a room anywhere. Anyone want to split a room with a random person from DC (me)? If not, I'll just stay at the Sleep Inn (new, closer to the track, has free network connections in every room).

Damn the luck!!! I'm just now reading this and have been dying to get on VIR (I lived in Martinsville/Danville for a short while). What is needed to race on it the next time a gathering occurs? Just a helmet or need a rollcage as well?
