First Auto X in the Z33 this weekend NCM Bowling Green KY
Finally get to autocross the new toy. I'm not new to autocross. Been at it for about 15 years. Started in an NA Z31, swapped civic, Highly modified turbo 240Z, Z31, Z32TT, Z31 NAT, a few miatas one turbo'd, a MK1.5 MR2 (not in that order) now I'm back in a Z. Still getting the feel of the Z33, been 2 huge snowstorms since I brought it home about a month ago. Feels a lot bigger and heavier than anything of my prior cars and while the power to weight is not exceptional I most recently was in an ES miata so the Z33 is a bit peppier.
My car is an 06 GT so I have the staggered wheels, I'm running the Z2's, 265 up front with 275's out back, as close to square as I could get. Hotchkis sway bar on the third hole from the end (second stiffest) everything else is dead stock 165k miles for now. I welcome any tips or advice. I plan to stick to CS for the year at least, I hesitate to invest in koni's as STU might be a consideration for next year, we'll see how how much I cuss the shocks this weekend.
If anyone else attends I'll be rocking 5 CS.

I know from driving another Z at an autocross the abs is fantastic and really pulls the car in for tight corners. It was however difficult to walk the line from late trail braking to not oversteer. Just had me thinking this chassis might be one that really favors left foot braking, thought? Experiences?
I can't say I've ever left foot braked to correct oversteer issues to be honest. I'm trying to remember back when my car was still subject to the factory tcs/VDC and all I remember then was it cutting throttle to something like 30% anytime the brakes were touched.
I do frequently left foot trail brake to work with my chassis setup since I like it slightly understeering unless I hit the go fast pedal.

The car performed flawlessly. Although I did forget to turn off traction control on my 3rd run. Low turnout of only 95 drivers had us running only 2 heats. I ran first heat, and managed second raw behind an FM car and first in pax. Second heat had dryer warmer driving conditions and I finished 4th in pax and 8th in raw. To be honest only 1 or 2 of the guys that outpaced me would I have been able to beat if we ran the same heat.
