I am thinking about the next mods now. I already have these ready to be installed:
1. Enkei RPF1 18x9.5 / 18x10.5 - which tire sizes would be best for 300hp and no great weight reduction yet?
2. StopTech High Carbon rotors and SS lines / DS Performance front and DS2500 rear pads
3. Hotchkis sway bars - what settings should I start with?
4. STANCE Super Sport Coilovers with 14/9 Swift springs
5. SPL Differential Solid bushings for the stock VLSD
6. SPC Front camber kit - is it a good option as I 've read just recently on here that someone snapped it on a track?!
7. LSD OS Giken 1.5 - that's for later as I still need to get the axle stub

I want to keep the interior stock for now but want to put bucket seats in. Is there a way to attach the belts (4 or 5 point system) to something so I don't have to get rid of the audio system yet?

1. I'm a huge fan of 265/285 on most semislicks and those rim sizes. Yes you can fit much larger, but driving wise those are what feels best and what was fastest for me.
3.middle front, weakest rear or just use the stock rear bar.
6. get a kinetix or z1 and modify it to get as much camber as you need. Rate of failure to the number on cars is extremely small.

8. Look into something like a graffiti motorsports K harness bar. Its a much better option than the sparco ones.

275 is about ideal on a 10.5 IMO.

Wider tires will be slower on straights, right? So what profile would be best:
a) 255/?? front, 275/?? rear
b) 265/?? front, 285/?? rear

If you are going to track it, do not get a harness bar. Roll bar and aftermarket seats/harness or no roll bar and stock safety system. Safety is a system, you shouldn't mix and match.

I'm not even going to get into the roll bar discussion since he didn't ask. My car is caged.

Use the stock seat belt would be your best bet. Run the belt through the side holes in the seat or use a seat with lower side.

Guys, would 285/30/18 be too low for rear (almost stock weight)?
I would run it with 265/35/18 in front.

Go 265/30 in the front if you have the choice, it will keep the TCS/VDC happy. No reason to stay staggered AND **** off the electronics.

I will be switching it off for the track. The tire choice (Federal RS-R) is only 265/35/18 front and 285/30/18 rear. They are not top semi slicks but I don't need more to test the car further before I go full race spec next year.

So will this set up be ok?

Are you disabling TCS/VDC in some way? The only issue I would see is those systems kicking in at improper times. The ABS issue with square setups (which you are doing by diameter) is still not 100% attributable to square tire sizes. Some people have issues, some don't.

When I ran the 595's 4 years ago I had issues with chunking and had one that had the tread split from the sidewall after one day of use. Keep an eye on them.

Soooo your going to have shorter tires in the rear ? Your better off with 275/40 rears and 275/35 fronts or about 10 other combinations that will be better then what you currently have planned.

Problem is they don't have 275 at all! And no 285/35 either. Any alternatives in Europe?
I don't need the likes of r888, AD08R, FD201, etc. just yet as I am still testing and learning the car. I'll put them on when I'll go full race spec next year.

So I'm looking for something more durable and less expensive even if I'm gonna be slower.

@armt350z, yes, I will be installing an ESP killswitch and I believe this will also disable TC completely

What size are your wheels and what is available? I would run a 265/35 front 265/40 rear over the 285/30... I would actually say that would be a really good combination for handling if its available.

You have it on top mate: Enkei RPF1 18x9.5 / 18x10.5
Shitty choice in my country at a mid range for semislicks, nothing really good enough in terms of sizes for these rims. It's pretty hard to even get the top ones like r888 without waiting for delivery for ages!

What about Pilot super sports in 265/35 and 285/35?

That would be better than the 285/30... Will probably work out well.

I already have P zero street tires on my stock rims and I was hoping to go one step up when I put on those ENKEI rims -> semislicks. P zero are good but they were overheating after 2/3 laps and I couldn't push as much as I wanted to any more.

Will those Pilot super sports be closer to street P Zero or semislick Federal 595 rs-r in terms of performance? A couple of 350z owners from my local forum were saying that Super sport cup were lacking grip - they are not the same as Pilot super sport, are they?

There is no such thing as super sport cups. its either pilot sport cup 1 or 2, pilot super sports or pilot sports. The sport cups are semislicks better than R888's, I was not impressed with the Federals and would put the super sports ahead of them despite peak grip on the federals being higher.

UHP street tires would go pilot Super sports ---> Star spec zII ---> BFG Rival S ---> RE-71R

Semislicks: 595 RSR ---> Toyo r888/RA1 ---> Pirelli trofeo R ---> Pilot sport cup 2 ---> Ventus TD z221
