Hmmmm... If this passes, I think the 350 will be done! Offhand, not looking up comparative bhp/whp and curb weights.

I wrote my letter saying I don't want the 370Z in STU as I feel my 350Z would be obsolete.

I've talked to quite a few people that think it would be an ok move and might not make the 350 obsolete. They say the 370Z has fuel issues and almost always has to run a full tank which adds weight, not sure if true? It's also wider track in the rear so can't squeeze through a slalom or feature quite like a 350. I still don't know if that makes up for the potential 30whp/30wtq it would have over a 350.

Hrmm, very possible. While instructing at CMP I had a student with a relatively stock 370z, exhaust + good brake pads. He did have fuel starvation issues on right hand turns(the carousel and T12) if he was below 3/4 tank. The fix is dual pumps IIRC. I don't think the extra ~63lbs(10 gallons) will really make up the difference of ~30-40rwhp it has over the VQ35HR.

I don't think the 63lbs would be the be all end all either. Of course the dual pump isn't legal in auto-x STU trim so it sounds like they would need to run that extra weight almost all of the time.

I did co-drive a BS 370Z of a friends and hit a lot of cones with the rear of the car. I'm not sure how much wider the car is than a 350Z but I hit many more with the rear of his 370 versus my 350.

I don't think you will see 30hp/30ftlb increase at the wheels. It's probably more like 20/15.

I've seen a few dyno graphs showing 370s with over 330rwhp with headers and a tune. My car made just over 300 full STU build. I feel pretty confident that an STU 370 is going to be 30rwhp up on an STU HR 350. The intake manfiolds are also better so the power drop off in the high rpms will be less than an HR 350.

The torque numbers peak might only be 15ftlb but I bet there would be areas under the curer where the overlays are closer to 30ftlb.

330 is probably about it for a 370 unless you go to SP and run ethanol and make some additional intake changes, etc...
