For all those who only know Lauda from the Ron Howard film "Rush", or seeing him in the Mercedes F1 pit, there's so much more to him. Lauda's F1 career spanned two decades and some of the most significant changes to the sport. His ability to test and sort a race car was second to none. He raced everything from NA V12 formula cars to the turbo era that had mountains of power. His World Championships with Ferrari and McLaren ranged from dominating to just edging the competition. He was a racer's racer, with no BS once the green flag dropped. That's probably what he wants on his tombstone in Austria. Hats off to a great champion who perservered through impossible odds and injuries..
