Well, 2 years after the original post, here's a newbie that appreciates this write-up.
If Dave is still around the forum, did you leave everything set the same, or have you teaked it since then?
I couldn't find any oil discussions. I saw Redline mentioned here, and another mention of Motul on another thread. Mine has Mobile 1 in it now and I really bounce around the parking lot. What are people running in their track Zs with Nismo, Cusco, or Kaaz LSD?
Thanks,
Bill

with a Nismo diff, run Motul PA90.
also: I was wondering (anyone can answer), when rearranging the clutch packs, does it matter where in the order you put the doubled up plates to lower the lock up?
ex:
AbAbAbAbAb < 100%
AbAbAAbbAb < 80%
for the 80, the matched AA, bb plates... could they be in the beginning (AAbbAbAbAb) or end (AbAbAbAAbb) and does it work the same way or does it alter the characteristics.

LSD or new Rims
hi!
i am thinking about improving my track times and so i stand between a new LSD or some new rimes ...
actually my car is a 350z MY2007 track model OEM rays (michelin pilot sport) and spacers (F: 40mm and R: 50mm) ... additional i improved my brembo brakes with drilled brembo rotors, ferodo ds2500, brake venting, stainless brake-hoses and ATE superblue ...
now there are two items, that i would rather buy ...
- os giken LSD OR
- work cr kai (9.5x18 offset 30 all around) and 265/35/18 semislick tires
which should i do next to improve my lap times ...
thanks for your feedback and excuse my bad english ;-)

LSD, LSD, LSD, LSD, LSD, LSD! Did I say LSD? It will do far more for your track times then a set of wheels. OS Giken is a great choice and is what I'm running in my 350Z. Find a local dealer to save on shipping or if that doesn't work out I have some contacts at the US OS Giken distributor.

I have some nice SSRs and now I'm aching for a good LSD.
The Giken gets a lot of good reviews from across the spectrum (Miata to TT RX7, etc), and that's what I'm going with on recommendation from Beta and a few others on here....once I can save up the $1,400 or so, that is.
Still, it'll be well worth it. You won't be able to use the extra traction of those wheels/tires for anything but braking and cornering until you replace the crappy OEM LSD. Not that that won't make you faster; but the LSD will make you faster no matter what wheels/tires you're running.

limited slip experience?
looking for a limited slip (my base model isn't cuttin' it). Who has experience with an aftermarket LSD on the track? Complaints? Suggestions as to what to stay away from?
