Bad news. I'll be brief. President of my current proposed manufacturing company has cold feet about liability issues.

I'm not hanging the towel just yet though.

Sheet, I won't even have MY bar back for an event this Wednesday!

Good news......finally!

Found a new manufacturer, and I SHOULD have news by the end of the week.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

Just trying to share a GREAT product.

For those wishing for pricing like the other bar, keep dreaming. Many more pieces and top quality hardware does not come cheap. Sorry, I can't sell for less than cost.

A copy of my bar is being make as I type, along with a jig for copies. Wish I could share more. Hoping to have a copy by next week to trial fit, then I'll commit to making a dozen. All materials have been sourced.

I have another HPDE this coming Monday, and I won't have mine back by then......The things I do for the community!

Pricing SHOULD be what I stated earlier......$500.00. Maybe a bit less.

Just a suggestion!- make sure your product has been approved the race sanctioning bodies. This helps witht he liability issue. We had the one we designed and sell also stress tested so we know how the bar will hold up in a head on collision. Then we had the chief trama surgeon of a hospital ( also drives and races a 350z), double check belt positions and angles. The prduct will need to meet SCCA and NHRA specifications.

regards

Working on it Paul. It's already been approved by Porsche Club of America, who put on a LOT of HPDE's. Which is what it was designed for. I'm planning on getting SCCA approval for drift events soon. And, thanks for reminding me about NHRA!

My shoulder belt angle will be less than your bar's.

Glad to hear there is still interest!

My new manufacturer also races......... So time frame is still a bit......not definite.

As to my other 4 mounting points........I am using eye bolts where the lower outer shoulder OEM belts mount and I mounted eye bolts in the driveshaft hump. I am using these for both the seat belts and the double sub straps. I run the sub straps between the seat backrest and lower cushion. No way could I slide forward under the straps.

Mounting the straps to the seat track bolts is NOT recommended.

A jig has been built. A bar has been completed off the jig. A trial fit in another Z is happening tomorrow. That's the good news.

The bad is he doesn't want to make any more.

BUT....I have possession of the jig, and I have found another potential manufacturer. I'll be checking him out tomorrow.

I have at least 2 other potential manufacturers lined up.

I am VERY frustrated that people do not want to make money. I do not understand.

So, yes, I am progressing. And persevering. Not about to quit.

Bruce,

What reason(s) have they given for not wanting to do the work?

Well........

Liability fear is the major cop-out.

1st company also thought the job was too small.

The race shop was afraid of potential liability issues. And they were too busy........

BUT......today I found a hungry welder.

Yes. I am aware of Sparco. And a few other manufactures. NO one is offering what I am.

Looking at their brackets, I would pass.......

IF they offered one for the 350Z.............

With luck(which I have not had much of) I MIGHT/could be shipping after the 4th.......
