147MPH? Really, that's it?
Just a fun FYI, went out to Goliad, TX (Semi-Retired Airport) for some one mile top speed runs: www.texasmile.com
Ran the Z a couple of times just for fun, was really out there to help with the event, but here's how it went:
Wheel spin in first and second, shifted at 6500rpm all the way through 6th gear to get to the mile marker...
1st run 146mph, 2nd run 147mph
Wind was a really big factor at 130mph and up, there was a pretty heavy headwind coming straight at us on the track and the Z wanted to dance around a bit, and danced around A LOT under heavy braking from 147mph, any normal person would have backed off and gotten the car to straighten out, but it made me laugh and smile.
Anybody who can make it out to the next one, really should, it was an absolute blast to go faster than some V8's out there, especially with NO power mods on my car.

That sounds pretty cool. I might go out there since I'm in Corpus. I wouldn't mind finding out what my car will top out at.

I will be there this summer visiting my parents. Hopefully I can drive the Z down.
Corpus is a nice city, I miss the fishing but not the humidity.

I grew up in Aransas Pass. My parents own a bowling alley there.

If you come down PM me and I will try to get a couple of other Z's and we can go for a drive.

Hahaha, exactly!!! Man, it was freaking HOT down there. You all really should come out to the next one, it was a blast. There was even a "streamliner" bonneville car that came out there, it was having some fuel problems, but the owner told me that it's reached speeds of over 300mph on the salt flats!
