As I've stated, I run a more modest 245 width tire up front and I feel the car demonstrates amazing balance (though with R compounds I feel as though I'm pushing the stock suspension past it's limits). One would have to experiment to find the tire widths they feel work best for their situation. My school of thought was to keep the stagger as Nissan designers intended, only widening it some front and back. But other solutions may work as well.
If those tires are pushing the stock suspention, what do you plan on upgrading to?

That's about right. My last car with toyo RA-1's cornered at 1.37 g's at Infineon when warmed up.

I ran 205/50-15 wheels on my intergra Type R, with Kumho Ecsta V700 tires. I hooked up one of those G-Tech (sp?) G-meters and I managed a 1.09 lateral G load in that car. With considerably wider tires on the Z, I would speculate that it may be possible to get 1.3 G. For now, I don't plan on upgrading the suspension, simply because I'm saving money for other things (i.e. house), but I was considering the S-Tunes, as this is my daily driver, and I don't want a track-dedicated suspension set-up.

My last car had an ultra stiff setup (1000lb springs). 235 40 17 RA-1's.
It averaged 1.31 on flat corners. The 1.37 I mentioned above is in one of the fun "compression" turns at infineon.
I'll tell you after sunday what I pull with the 275's at infineon.

Instantaneous lateral accel can easily get to around 1.3-1.5G on a street-based sports car with minimal mods and no aero work. Keep in mind that this is quite different than what the car rags measure when they do skidpad testing. Against that testing methodology, a 350Z that gets around .9G with stock Bridgestones would probably hit around 1.0G with a mild R-comp (like RA1s, Victoracers, Pilot Sport Cups, A032Rs, etc...) and probably 1.05-1.10 on heat cycled Hoosiers.

Just something to keep in mind.

We run a Dunlop slick, 250-640-18 up front on a CCW 18x9.5" wheel, and Dunlop slick 285-680-18 rear, on 18x11 wheels. We sell these slightly used slicks for $85.00 each, and sell the CCW wheels as well.

^^That sounds about right.

The 275s worked great at infineon. The car exhibited great balance. I didn't have time to play with the g-meter since I was concentrating on other things being the first track exerience with the Z

Default balance

I put on Pirelli Rosso 295/30x19 and 275/30x19F. I had tried 275R 245F in a 35 profile, and obviously the stock. I haven't put the stillen sways on yet, or the Tein, but the difference in handling is phenomenal over stock and the 275/245 setups. I have done lock to lock testing and get no rubbing on the front with the 275s. I am going to test how far I can lower on the Tein's without rubbing.

This new layout has basically resolved the factory understeer, although I have yet to do a few sessions at the track.

So are 17" Enkei wheels 9.5 width and 275/40-17 Kumho V700s a good combination for both auto-X , roadracing, etc? I want a solid all around setup for any kind of racing I want to do. I know some tires have optimal operating temperatures so some may work great on a fast track, and work poorly on an auto-x course correct? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: hmm, i can't seem to find enkei 17's in 9.5 width...
