Default Calsonic? Anyone?

Ok, so I was messing with my car's exhaust system the other day and see the name "Calsonic" stamped all over it. What exactly is Calsonic, other than a race car sponsor? And while I'm at it about JGTC, notice that the Z is not giving anything up.

Calsonic Kansei:

Who we are,

Our capabilities include the design and manufacture of heater and air conditioning systems, engine coolings systems, and exhaust systems including catalytic converters for the automotive industry.
Recently, building on our parent company's expertise, our capabilities have expanded to include the supply of front-end and cockpit modules.

Our customers include Audi, BMW, Ford (Land Rover and Volvo), Honda, MG Rover, Mitsubishi, Nedcar, Nissan, Peugeot, Renault, Saab, Scania and VW.

To save money in the automotive industry many manufacturers contract out car components to companies that specialize in these areas. Better product, for considerably reduced cost = happier customers and more profit. Magnetti Marelli is just such a company as is Lotus and many other companies.

Calsonic's been supplying radiators to Nissan for years.

Xanavi and Motul are main sponsors for the Nismo factory team. Professional racing is a serious money burning business. Even for factory team, they still need sponsorship money to help fund the entire program. That's why you see "Marlboro" as the main sponsor of Ferrari F1 team.

Xanavi supplies navigation systems to Nissan (e.g. the factory navigation system in the Z is made by Xanavi). Motul is a lubricant supplier to Nissan.
