Default 275 width on stock 17's

I have seen plenty of people (ok, 2 or 3) running the Hoosier 275/40ZR17s on the stock 17x7.5 and 17x8 Base/Enthusiast wheels. Does anyone know if the Kumho 710s or Avon R-Techs in 275/40 will fit as well? Is there something special about the Hoosier 275s that allows them to fit on the stock wheels? I am thinking about either the Kumho Victoracers, 710s or Avons in 275/40R17 as the size I wanted is on back order (245/45R17 Victoracers), but I don't want to spend $700 for a set of tires that doesn't fit. Thanks

Spend the money and buy the Hoosiers if you want better results.

I am running Khumo Ecsta ASX 255 on stock 17s and I hate them!
Damn car feel unstable at high speeds even after alignment!

Tell me more about these Hoosiers. Its time for a change.
Mind you I am running stock fronts...would this be a problem with 275 on the rear?

In that case, I should have spent the money and bought a Z06 as well!

EnthuZiast -

The hoosiers we're talking about aren't street tires, they're extremely soft race tires for autocrossing. Granted you could drive around with them on the street if you wanted to, but they're more or les slicks with a few grooves put in them. I doubt you could get many street miles out of a set, 2000 at the most I'm guessing.
