Default auto-x alignment and FSB questions

Well I decided to go for BS in 2005 I bought a yellow 05 enthusiast. Anyway I would like to know what people are using for their alignment settings so I can get an idea of where I should start. Also I'm thinking the car needs a stiffer FSB to hold some of the what little camber the front has thru turns. What type of FSB are people using?

Right now Im thinking for alignment max - camber in the front which I imagine is about -1 with .05 toe out. Rear -1 or -1.5 camber with 0 toe. How does that sound?

Good luck getting any camber in the front. There's no stock adjustment, and with the biggest prybar I could find, I couldn't get any additional camber dialed in. I'm running zero toe all the way around, with 1° camber in the rear on both sides. Stock it had 2° (LR) and 1.6° (RR), so I actually took some out. If you really want rear rotation, try some rear toe out. Be careful because a little makes a huge difference, but with 3mm out overall in the rear, it was hard to keep the car going straight unless it was accelerating!

This note from potential 350Z owner (current Boxster S autocrosser). I assume from comments re front camber that your cars push (understeer) excessively. Early ones in Atlanta pushed badly, only one currently runs and his looks balanced. May be driver, may be cheating, or? In any case, he beats me.

It pushes, but most FR cars do in stock form. Changing the rear alignment made a big difference, as well as running equal tire sizes on all four corners. In stock form with stock Bridgestones it understeered.. not terrible, but more than I'd like. Now with the Hoosiers, alignment and informed driving it's fine. I'm putting a front sway bar on it for the next event and that should help more as well. Now get out of that Boxster and into a Z already!

If you can't adjust your camber in the front won't a thicker front sway increase your understeer?

Not always, but sometimes. If the inside of the tire isn't on the ground, as in the case when you have very little negative camber, less roll could help keep more of the tire on the ground, thus increasing front grip.

The sway bar also helps in transitions, helps reduce rear wheel slipping (from the LSD) and it really helps with the ICE mode brake issues. Even if it pushes a little more in steady state situations, it's worth it to gain in the other areas.

Have you noticed excessive tire wear on the outer edges of your tires? If so what tire are you running? I know there are issues with the hoosiers.
