Oh man I need to grab some of these, how do they fare in the cold cold weather? My hatch has nearly split my head on multiple occasions, damn near knocked me out once when the metal latch connected with my skull

Both our HP and UHP should perform better than your OE shocks ever did. It depends if you have a spoiler and how heavy it is, but if your concerned you can always choose the UHP (even without a spoiler) as long as you don't mind it taking more effort to close the hatch.
