not sure if anyone has made this point yet, but newegg.com sells cold cathodes in just about any size from 4in to 15in. tons of colors and the best part is they cost next to nothing. they are made for PC's but 12v is 12v.

oh and some come with sound sensing units so you can make them come on with your bass.

I don't have a professional camera, just a couple digitals. I basically set the exposure to maximum and turned the iso real high and came out with these pics. Not professional looking, but enough to get the point across. The pic of the bar is looking back from the driver seat. The 10" blue led is actually under the crossbar. Dash's have 4 single bulb LED's under each, spaced separately and evenly.

The last pics were taken with a dif camera that had more exposure and shutter time, thus capturing a closer resemblance of what it actually looks like. First ones are dark.

It looks awesome in person. Next steps are to take out the trunk light (or replace with led), and cabin lights to LED's I will be able to get better pics then Let me know what you guys think.

Great write up! =)
One of my home boy got the blue interior neon, and it can also use it manually or you can just turn on the headlight and it will turn on automatically. if you get a button like what he did it to his then you dont have to worry about battery all that stuff. i'll post up some pictures when i get mine...oh yeah im getting white one =) i don't think blue one will match up with my black Z.

I was wondering where would be the easiest place to tap it into the parking lights. To make the question simpler which location would be the easiest to tap it into the parking light. Would i have to go through the firewall?

Installed blue LED strips at the end of the headliner without it hitting the hatch.

I used a fuse adapter and tapped the power off my radio fuse down on the left driver side fuse box.. I don't see any reason why you should cut holes in your firewall when you can just tap off a fuse... Also, I bought LED Glow brand offline.. I got 6 interior strips for around 40 bucks and they have 7 colors to choose from. I've had them for about 9 months and they've been in two cars and they're all working so I would recommend LED glow.

Tapping power from the radio is a horrible idea. Not only are you taking usable power away from the radio, but you're drawing extra current from a 14ga wire than it was design to draw, and you're introducing interference (and possibly degrading sound quality).

Running a separate power line is almost always the best solution, but if you want to tap, you should tap off of the accessory line in the ignition harness, or from other lamps.
