what hatch did you use because, I got the mastergrade and nothing seems to fit right. I also dont have all the holes that yours has to install everything.

I used the basic seibon CF hatch. I have heard that the Mastergrade does not have all of the holes pre-drilled like the seibon.I also heard that the Mastergrade does not incorporate the rear wiper. Until I own one it would only be speculation. Maybe someone with a Mastergrade hatch can advise.

yeah they dont have the rear wiper. I know they are alot light than the seibon hatch. There are holes to pre drilled to put the plastic trim on but I had to drill some extra holes for everything fit on.

I have a question, what shocks did you uses, the stock shocks are to strong for my cf hatch

Seibon had perfect fitment and allowed me to install everything just like stock.
I just used the stock shocks even though it could take ur teeth out if u stood too close. Since
@ that time there were no 'soft' shocks as they have now. Don,t know the name brand but I'm
Sure u could ask around.

It's a two piece box. You take the back off, slide it under, then you reattach the front to the back.

Nice write-up. I started the process of removing my hatch. I would be putting the same stock hatch back but looks like getting the wiring harness to the wiper back through the sleeve could be a nightmare. Any hint?. Thanks

Honestly its really not that bad. I just ran a piece of wire coat hanger down the hole the wire harness passes and pulled it through. Not as bad as I thought.

Does anyone know if the rubber mounting for the glass can be used from my stock hatch or must I buy new mounting rubber for the stock glass?

Just ordered a MG hatch today!

I would opt for a new one. There is no way to know if the seal (once used) will work as well on a new surface. The Nissan Molding that surrounds the glass is only about $80 at Nissan. I wouldn't want to risk water in my trunk. You decide.

I want the moulding but wasnt sure if it is in the kit or if the kit hardware on the lexan sealed. After concidering I am thinking more how you did it even thou my Z is not a daily driver. Put only 1k on it in the past year.

My tail light fuse keeps blowing out.. The only thing I have changed is the hatch. Are both wires grounds? The wire that hooks up on the left is black/white and the right is all black??

Help pls!!

Nm, it was my sidemarker amber leds. I didnt wrap the pos/neg connections with elec tape so they were touching..

I realized the hinge that attaches the hatch to the body has some kind of paint coating around it (Kind of serves as a glue to maybe prevent water from getting in there). I guess it would be a good idea to put a layer of paint after install. Very useful write-up. Thanks

My hatch sits higher. Like there is a gap around it. Did you get a different damper or something?

There may be a possibility of 1 of 2 things. The hinges at the top of the hatch were reversed or that the hinge plates at the bottom of the hatch struts were in inverted. Please make sure the hinge plates at the bottom of the hatch struts are facing downward and not upward. This could very well solve your problem.
I hope these suggestions help to solve your problem.
