Good writeup with good hints to help my Sparco install. I added some clear bra film to the outboard side of each mounting bracket so the bracket would not scuff the plastic interior trim plastic. I also could not get 3/8ths washers to work with my mounting bolts (hole too small), but my very early production 2003 model has some unusual specifications different than later production Z33s, such as smaller front strut bar mounting bolt diameters. Good information and informative pix Vo7848.
cheers,

Is anything special needed to use the OEM belt/buckle with aftermarket seats?

I've heard some people say yes and others say no. Would this bar fit in a G35 coupe? The B-pillar shape looks identical so the bracket will fit most likely, my question is are the wide of the b-pillars from drivers to passenger side the same.

Does this pose any kind of problems? Under performance driving does it move when it's under stress or anything. I think someone said something about putting some kind of protector beneath the b pillar where it's mounted so it doesn't move? Sorry I know this is an old thread just considering a bar now! Lol

No problems and hardly any movement at all. The shape of the brackets "wedges" the bar from up and down movement by pressing against the B-pillar interior plastic panels. It really does work slick, and does not interfere with rear storage space!

Default Roll bar vs. Restraint bar. Need advice please

Just picked up 2 Sparco seats and some 6 point harnesses and wondering if I should go with a roll bar or a restraint bar.
I would appreciate any advice.
Thank you.

I was not familiar with the NRG bar, but have checked it out and it looks substantially as stout except for the side mounting brackets to the car. The install of the Sparco is much easier than NRG - no drilling like the NRG into the rear deck! I have seen a number of other harness bar designs. I think Sparco has a superior harness bar design for the Z33. Remember that you always get what you pay for. . . . . . .

Default Harness bar

I just had the Sparco harness bar installed. Looked at NRG but went with a name I trust rather than lower price. I had to question the substantially lower price for the NRG and went with the assumption that the Sparco bar had to be the safer choice.

Sooooooooooo just wondering if this added any noticeable chassis stiffness?

I'm not getting any harnesses but I do like things stiff.

Due to the fact that the harness bar installs high up on the chassis as well as picking up only two fasteners in the car (for the Sparco bar), there is no noticeable difference in chassis stiffness, that I've detected.
