How did you scratch it? Get touch up paint.

I was test fitting it first to see how it fit/looked...one hand on the plug one hand on the hatch didn't work so well..accidently let go of the hatch making it lift up really fast and the plug slipped and scraped against the hatch. Needless to say I was pretty pissed it was perfect. But dude has great customer service and sent me another one since there were some minor problems with the black plug that came with mines.

Oh damn, well at least he sent a new one out for ya. Mine shipped out Wed I think, or Thursday morning. No update on USPS Tracking. Although, I hear they are terrible.

Any one else that has installed this ,developing rust? I emailed the seller about this but no reply yet. Just wondering if I might have received a bad one.

Yeah it was. Here is his reply,

Sorry to hear about this I actually had a few others with this problem what happens is when installing the plug you have to be very careful not to push the plug up against the edges of the hole, it seems to be sharp on some cars and it causes the paint to scratch off then developing rust after a few weeks. I can go ahead and replace this for you. I actually solved the problem by sealing the metal plug before the paint process actually begins. Thank you for your patience. Would you like me to send the plug to you address I have on file?

Thanks,
Mike Cameron

This is some of the best customer service I have ever recieved. Definately no reason to hesitate here. Great seller

I'd also like a PM with his contact info. It looks great and sounds like quality, plus it'd be alot better than what I got now...the rubber gromet with a bolt as the plug >.<

As long as you didn't scrape it I would think it should be fine. Hope I get my replacement soon. The rusty edges look terrible!!

Yeah it's because you gotta be extra careful putting it on. I accidently scrape mines and it caused it to rust as well. Great seller no doubt very good customer service.
