Are the colored LED parking lights legal (i.e., will I pass inspection)? I just put a blue pair in while putting new xenons in and need to get my inspection done in a couple weeks....I live in Pa if it helps.

The FSM says you gotta take off the rear bumper to change the turn and bu bulbs. I took out the combo stoplight/taillights and could reach down behind the rear bumper and remove the lamp sockets. I put in the LEDs. Yep, they flash like crazy. Like rotchcrocket04 says, it is easy to get spoiled. 4 flashes before you can let go of the stalk. After a while all the other cars look like their flashers are in slow motion. I've heard about "Phantom" bulbs that have the outside chromed. Anyone heard of these? I hate yellow bulbs!

I have these chromed bulbs you're talking about in my headlights. I'll take a pic for you then. I bought mine off a guy on eBay named coco701111.

Chrome Mirror Bulbs

I did also make an order for about $40 worth of bulbs from Xenonmods.com. I will HIGHLY recommend you DO NOT purchase from him. He ripped me off and really sent me through a run around for about 3 months trying to get my money back. I order 4 sets of bulbs and he ended up shipped me one set. Due to a "technicality" Paypal wasn't legally allowed to refund my money. He didn't respond to any of my emails for 2.5 months. Then when Paypal contacted him he sent me one set of bulbs and gave them that tracking number and said he shipped the whole order. Well since he owns the website Paypal couldn't prove the full order (like they can with partners - eBay). Anyway, I got one set of bulbs... though of good quality, I paid $40 for one set

I recommend getting your bulbs from the guy on eBay that I posted. Oh, I was also recommended by Paypal to file a government claim against Xenonmods.com because they have had other issues against him and have flagged his account. Supposedly one more dispute and they're closing his accounts and all that.

Running light:

Turn Signal:

Running light on (kinda dim):

Turn signal flashing:

Hope this helps. I love these bulbs 100% more than the ugly Amber bulbs that were in there

Thanks, this helps a lot. I searched the internet and found a place called Spectrumled. They sell chrome bulbs$3.49 and "chrome dome" where just the top half is chromed. $4.99. They claim the light from the "chrome dome" is brighter, and they look like the fully chromed when installed. I ordered both. I'll let you know how they look when I get them installed. My LED flash rate drives my GF crazy.

I got the chrome bulbs. The 1/2 chrome ones were almost as bright as the no chrome. The 07+ headlight assy's have an additional lens in front of the turn signal. I thought the lens might help hide the remaining amber. But they didn't look as good as the fully chromed ones IMO so I put in the full chrome ones. I also put in LED parking lights. What a PITA just to change bulbs. I'm thinking about putting amber LEDs in the front. They already flash fast. I still catch crap from my g/f haha

So I went on this site http://autolumination.com/194.htm and wanted to order the RUNNING LIGHT but holy crap there are like a billion diff choices. Im seeing that a lot of you guys went with this one:

194 (Super White)
194 168 W5W 2825 Stealth Silver Chrome
Click Here to See These Bulbs Lit
$2.99

thats just by judging from your pics. Question why did you guys not go with the LED ones like these:

194 168 W5W 2825 6led Led Bulbs (shown above): $4.99 ea
Super White

or

194 168 W5W 2825 SMT Tower III
Super White

or

Order 194 SMT Bulbs (shown above): $9.99 ea.
Cool White

those a just a few of the LED ones to name a few, Led is brighter and last longer then conventional bulbs, So what was the deciding factor in not installing these instead? Also from what i'm reading these LED bulbs don't cause the CRAZY FAST blinking only the changing the amber big bulb above the main PROJECTOR 2005< to a LED does that. Am I correct on that? I would like to go with this super LED
because from what I see it looks the brightest and very similar shape to the stock bulb. As far as the amber bulb above the projector Im thinking about going with this one

Having the LED as the running light and the Chrome BULB for the turn signal should cause no issue with speed a which the blinker blinks correct? Thanks for the info!!!!!

A lawyer once told me the only good answer to a question is' "it depends". You are correct, having an LED for a running light, and and a chrome bulb will not affect flash rate.
However, if you put in an LED for the turn signal (front or rear, or both) without adding a resistor for each LED, you will increase your flash rate. All lot of vendors sell LED flashers. These replace the standard flasher under the dash. Except the Z does not have an independent flasher like a majority of the other cars on the road. In the Z the flasher is part of the BCM (Body Control Module) which is located on the left kick panel in the interior of the drivers side down by the pedals. I haven't pulled my BCM apart to see what it would take to replace the flasher. If anyone out there has a wrecked Z, and is willing to send me their BCM, I'll be happy to pull it apart and see what it would take, or if it is possible, to retrofit an LED rated flasher. After I figured it out, I would post dyi instructions. The resistors they sell have crimp on connectors. IMO these crimp connectors will eventually corrode and start to cause problems, Therefore, I elect to have the high flash rate.

I have those "Tower" type 12 or 16 LED (however many it is) types in my rear signals and reverse lights (even though they didn't fit properly and I had to make changes to them). They are the reason my flash rate is so fast.

I had the 6 LED small bulbs in the front for running lights and 3 of the 6 LEDs blew out within a week. After that they flickered like a damn strobe light. That's when I searched for the OEM bulb chromed. They burnt out so quickly because they are a standard low wattage LED... the Z gave it too much power and they blew out from constantly getting too much power.

The rear signals/reverse lights are still going strong (knock on wood).

Thank you soooooooooooooooo much for the reply, looks like ill order the super white BULB for running light and the chrome BULB for the turn signal that will complete my headlight setup. All I will have left is changing the License plate light to Hyper white. I like this set up alot anyone have experience with it its called the HALO super white LED ( there is a thread specificly about it) I wonder if going with LED for the rear LICENSE plate will cause a fast FLICKER.

I just put in my order for my front bulbs thanks a ton guys!

No problem man

The Halos... where's the thread? I'm pretty sure those are the bulbs I bought for my license plate bulbs (after the other LEDs blew out). I was assured by the seller that they won't blow out in a week and he was right. I've had them in now for about 3 months and they are going strong and beautiful, might I add!! I posted pics in the thread. I'm heading to the bar in a few minutes but I'll look it up tomorrow at work to see if those are the set.

I have Festoon leds for the interior courtesy lights. In front I have single flat leds for running lights, and chrome turn. In back, I have the 16 unit tower type for bu, 3 led for license plate, and 21 led (9 forward and 12 surrounding) for my rear turn. No mods required. I wish the 21 led was brighter.
The high flash rate will drive your gf crazy.

In your headlights? I'm sure you'll be fine. As long as you spun that connector until it clicked in you're fine.

Twisting the front parking/running light off and on is tough.

I posted a request for the price on a BCM from the guy offering discounts on used parts, so far no reply.....

Xenonmods.com just got me too. It was only $9 bucks for some caliper stickers, but it still pisses me off that they didn't send them and won't return my emails. A couple of worthless douchebags that run the site.
I filed a complaint with the BBB against them. Wouldn't you know it when I went to the BBB site, they had already been rated with an "F"
Good luck w/ your Paypal claim.

Yup... sucks man. I never got anything back, pretty much screwed. I also did file a claim with IC3.gov (Internet Crime Complaint Center)... though never heard anything back from them. Just blows my mind how so many people can be ripped off by a site and STILL have it up and functioning. Ugh... I hate that son of a b****
