Default Anybody have any experience removing silver trim?

Dose anyone have experience with removing the silver interior trim. Such as the ring around the shifter, gauges, hvac controls, steering wheel, interior door handles, ect. I am wanting to paint them I'm also going to do the rear strut bar cover to match but found a write up for that.

RE: the shifter trim, you just unscrew the shift **** (counter-clockwise until it comes off) pull up the trim from the front and and pull it out (towards you). Disconnect the molex connector for the A/C and heater controls and pull the piece out. You can then remove the boot, etc.

RE: steering wheel controls, you have to actually remove the steering wheel by unbolting the two tamper-resistant torx screws (if I remember correctly,) removing the air bag and pulling out the wheel. From there, you need to disassemble from behind to get the silver control bits out. If you try to just yank them out from the front, you're going to break the plastic bolt holes and clips that hold everything together.

For the top trim (where the three gauges are in the center of the dash), you need to pull out the entire stereo console trim (there's a write-up for that).

I believe there's a write-up on the door handles as well.

The pass Oh Chit silver strap comes off with a butter knife prying at the very bottom.

The silver trim on my 06 has 2 Phillips screws on the back side of the wheel.(I was lucky). Caution! If you have radio/cruise on your steering wheel, place paper underneath to catch the little plastic pieces that may come out. Once the screw is out you can pull out from the front.
