Default nismo SCCA springs

ZBoater--Thanks for the thought. I was shopping their site when your thread came in. Here's what I'm considering:

front & rear SCCA NISMO springs
front & rear NISMO replacement shocks
front & rear STILLEN 5 position sway bars

With the forum discount I can get the NIsmo parts for $1022 from perfnissan; I can get the Stillen for $279, free shipping.

I have 2 concerns: 1) will the SCCA springs be too hard for an everyday ride and 2) will the nismo parts interact well with the STILLEN sways. I don't have a major tire wear problem and don't want to "install" one. Any thoughts?

Forgot to mention--the NISMO SCCA springs have a 1" drop.

I wonder how the Nismo shocks will do with different rate springs. For instance the Nismo SCCA ones you mentioned or even my B&G springs..

performancenissan's description says the SCAA springs are suitable for any shock that can be used with OEM springs.

Oh I know that my question is not the springs but rather the Nismo shock. I wonder if the valving would be even close on a set of springs that is nothing like what they are designed for. In other words the Nismo shocks were designed to work as a unit with the whole Nismo suspension setup. The Nismo SCCA springs are a completely different spring rate then the Nismo springs that comes with the Nismo S-tune suspension kit. I wonder how the shocks will perform...

I followed-up with a call to perfnissan on the spring compatability and general userfriendliness. Jason there says the SCCA spring would probably be WAY too stiff for street applications, even when coupled with the softest setting on the Teins. I don't think this is the product for me.

You might want to post this in the Racing section. I would imagine Jason H & Along are running these springs on their T2 cars. I believe Jason H has Koni Sport shocks as well.

Does anyone know what the spring rates on these are?

Their's a post on 350Zmotoring by Jason or Tony that pretty much set's the spring rates at lower in the front then the Tein Flex coilover and higher then the Tein flex in the rear.
Tein Flex is 672/672,

If I were to guess what that means, I would say 650/700.
Stiffer then oem by F+107% R+105%

or 600/675
F+91% R+97%

Given that, the Nismo S-tune shocks should not be used, not even Koni's unless revalved. Their is a vast differance between something mounting up and being controlled correctly. Good excuse to buy the slightly used Bilstein HD shocks I saw in the market place and getting them revalved. Though I wouldn't touch spring rates that stiff for use off of a track.

I am pretty sure Jason H has run his T2 Z with Koni Sport shocks & these springs. For the street I would probably go with the RSR springs in combo with the Koni shocks and 350Evo sways.

Being able to mount something is one thing, having shocks that can control that much spring is something totally different. And then theirs the problem of thinking your getting away with it and a look at rebound range and compression dampning show your really not getting away with it, in all control aspects. Koni normally recommends that their sport shock can control up to a 400lbs spring. Would like to hear what Gordon say's however.

If I remember correctly...
The set was pretty close front to rear.
Something like 650ish rear and the front were like 630ish.
I remember talking to Jim Rauck (another T2 350Z guy) and he had slightly different spring rates but they were close.
I ll dig them up and see.
When I raced Jason car at Mid Ohio it didt have our sways or the spring pacakge on the car.
I did drive it around the complex here after the install and it was really nice........for a race set up and that was with Koni sport Yellows.
