Default suspension question

sorry, im a newbie. i was just wondering if i will get good performance with just springs instead of going coilover set up? will the stock shocks hold up good? wat are the best performance springs out there rite now? are the tiens s-tech any good? i like the look of the s-techs but will they perform good? i would like coilovers, but i think its going to be pointless because i dont go to the track often or wont be going often. please any help will be great. THANX!

FAIRLADY350Z,

Let me know too. I am in socal and like to lower my ride.

Do you have custom rims?

I am debating between the Tein S or hotchkis. I got to measure my driveway this weekend. Its steep (hehe).

Are you looking for cornering performance?? Get swaybars instead. If you just want to make the ride look good with springs, yeah, you probably can get by cheaply with just a spring change. But definitely get some shocks with better dampening like bilsteins later if you're going to track. Just the drop will make the car handle a little better, but you need some nice swaybars and shocks to really get the Z to handle nicely.

do a search on some of the posts, i've read pluses on eibachs, teins, nismo's. RSR's might be pricey, they are titanium. I've heard good things about the eibachs. Most of these lower about slightly more than half inch to 3/4 inch. The tein high-techs are made of vanadium and lower close to 1" the s-techs lower 1.5". I think the H-techs would be a good choice. The s-tech would look good with stock size rims but might be too low for larger rims later. Anyways, do a search a lot of info out there.

With what shocks? Are they linear? What are the spring rates? How much does it lower the car?

thanks.

I have used the RS-R with both the Tokico and the 2003 350Z shocks.. Worked fine with both.. From what i hear RS-R springs are pretty much linear. With only like 1 coil being progressive... Spring rates are on there website i believe there 345 front 417 rear. half inch drop
