Default hks hypermax owners...help me out

hey,
i feel kinda embarrased about asking this but i just wanna make sure...
i just had my hypermax rs installed but the guy didnt tell me how to adjust the height and dampening.....
it seems pretty obvious that i need to turn that **** thingy with the provided wrench to adjust the height, but which way (clockwise/counterclockwise) will decrease/increase the height?
also where is the dampening ajuster for the front/back?
one more thing...how do u guys guage how much adjusting u did for the height/and dampening?

you raise the spring perch to raise the car, you lower the spring perch to lower the car.

The damper adjusting **** for the front can be seen when you pop open the hood, while the rear one can be reached thru the spoke (make sure you don't wear white long sleeve shirts when you do that! ) You turn clockwise to stiffen it, and counterclockwise to soften it.

BTW SSC, do you have any noise issues coming from the rear end of your coilovers?

So if I wanted to start at zero, I would turn it all the way clockwise?

Then each click counter-clockwise would be 1 increment (to a max of 30)?

gary....thanks for the heads up on the adjustment. fortunatly i do not have any noise issues....i remember your post couple of weeks back...did you resolve it?

no, I still haven't resolved the problem, I had my mechanic checked all bolts and everything was tight. Soon I will have him take it apart and check on the shocks and see.

So you don't find the rear noisy at all? even going over potholes?

nah, the rears are fine, even when going over potholes....at most all i hear is some minor squeaks from the shock/spring...but nothing like a big clunk or anything like that. you should contact hks since these coilovers come with warranty.

Hmm I get that clunking niose too going over pot holes. I thought that was normal...damn.

To raise the front, you turn the spring perch upward and to lower it, you turn the sprng perch downward. The rear is the opposite so if you want to raise the rear, you turn the spring perch downward and the opposite way to lower it.

For both front and back shocks: To stiffen the shocks, you want to turn the **** clockwise and to soften them, you turn them counter clockwise. If you don't know what setting its at, just turn the **** counter clockwise all the way until it stops, you're at the softest setting at that point. Move it clockwise to stiffen the shocks to your liking.

I like to feel the road and have a stiff ride so I set my front at 26 and the rear at 24. For some, that may be a little too stiff of a ride, but i found that it's perfect for me, even for daily driving. On the track and canyons, I go up to 29-30 in front and 25-26 in the rear.
