Default Cusco Zero-2 Titanium

Just got these today from Adam at z1Auto.com.. He gave me an incredible deal on them!!!

They look sooooo pimp. The case is unpainted titanium.. Weight savings is 4.2 lbs per corner (16.8lbs total ) over the regular Cusco Zero-2's.. Dunno how much lighter they are over the stock suspension if any. They are replacing a set of Tein Basics currently on my car..

It's "blued" where ever the welds are.. Looks really nice in person but I guess no one will ever really see them when they get put on LOL

I'll take a pic of some of the other ones tomorrow... I had them delivered to work and it's sitting in my office right now

As for the price.. Here is where I bought it:

I dunno if it's appropriate to post the amount I paid but lets just say it was a really good deal..

I'd PM or send an email to Adam for a quote at z1auto.com..

told ya you would like em. We are doing some playing today with mine Mike so I'll PM you where we ended up as far as new rideheights, etc. If all goes well, I might be cornerweighted and realigned today too.

All gone on these now at the "special" price - had one other set but they are going to a really good Z customer of ours on the west coast

hey adam.. any hints and tips on setting the optimal ride height? There are two hight adjustments right? one on the coilover itself and one that compresses the springs?

Well, I've had these coilovers on my car for about a week now and they are definately a ride and handling improvement over the Tein Basics..

They are lighter than the Basics.. I'd say about ~5-8 lbs lighter each corner.. mostly because of the Ti case and steel (?) springs that are noticibly smaller than the Basics! The piston is about the same size as the one on the Basics too--I expected something a little larger like on the JIC's but no biggie..

The Cusco's have a height adjustment for the coilover itself and one for the springs.. I guess you can choose to lower your car without loading the spring.. or choose a combination of both to get them dialed in perfectly.. It's gas charged vs. oil filled.. AvalonRacing did the install and all the adjustments. The fronts seemed to be good from the factory.. The rears needed some work though to get them right with no rubbing and just the right height.. The car is pretty slammed LOL.. I can't get a whole finger in the rears or the fronts.. Surprisingly, no rubbing issue so far ..

There are 5 dampener adjustment levels (manual adjustment dial on top).. I first set it on "3" and drove around for a few days.. It felt just like the Basics in terms of stiffness.. Except they ride so much more comfortable!.. They absorb the bumps a lot better than the Basics and the stock suspension but yet are still stiff.. As for understeer or oversteer, I didn't notice any.. I think I would really have to be at the track or auto-x pushing it hard as hell to see any real difference there..

Then, the past few days I set it on "5"--the max dampener setting.. The ride is pretty stiff.. you can tell immediately because the car bounces around and you get tossed sometimes in your car.. Not a kidney buster though.. ride is still smooth.. just real stiff.. This setting is still pretty drivable on the street.. but I'm going back to "3" or maybe "4" LOL.. no need to get tossed around for no reason

Overall, I'm very happy with the way these coilovers perform .. I'm very surprised at the smooth ride even at the stiffest setting.. maybe a combination of the light spring rate, gas charging and dual height adjustment??? I don't think I've ever had a suspension like this before--where you know it's damned stiff yet not bone jarring.. and there is a wide difference between the two dampener settings I tried.. I wonder if "1" feels like riding a caddy ???

P.I.M.P.

I almost purchased a set of these from Adam as well, but I just wanted something with pure track in mind and went with the JIC's, which is much more economical than the Aragosta's

wow..thats lower than my car I am 25 inches from centerline of the fender to the ground up front...rear I'd have to measure tomorrow

I run 3/3 front/rear on the street, and have found to be the most balanced

what tires are you using BTW?
