RS*R Ti2000 vs. SCCA Touring 2 springs
I currently have Eibach springs with Tokico D-Spec shocks. After having them on the track, I am not so happy with them. The progressive nature of the Eibachs, while fine on the street, doesn't inspire confidence on the track, especially in rapid transitions.
I also think that there is still too much lean in the corners, even with the Hotchkis sway bars.
I am looking for a firmer, single rate spring. I am leaning toward either the RS*R Ti2000 springs or the SCCA Touring 2 springs. Performance Nissan has both of these available, but I have not heard any feedback on this forum regarding the SCCA Touring 2 springs. Perf. Nissan says that the SCCA Touring 2 springs are "much firmer" than Eibach or Tein, but they don't give the spring rates.
Anyone have any information or comparison of these springs?

Called Performance Nissan to get the springs rates for the Nismo SCCA T2 springs:
Fr= 600lbs. / Rr= 690 lbs.

The Nissan parts guy thought the Tokicos would be up to the task (but I will also call Tokico to make sure). Certainly, I would think that the Tokicos would be more up to the task than the stock shocks. Sounds great for the track, but must be a kidney pounder on the street (life is full of compromises).

Per Performance Nissan's website, they state that these springs lower the car 1" front and rear from OEM ride height.
What would you suggest regarding an alternate shock/spring combo (reasonably priced - as in something other than $2000 coilovers) that is good for the track or something that could be done to help beef up the Tokicos?
Maybe the RS*Rs are the better choice then, but I want to be sure that I get something that is stiff enough.

I believe that the Hotckis springs are even softer in the rear than stock - not what I am looking for. I am also thinking about switching to the Cusco sway bars, since after tracking the car, I think the Hotchkis bars are also too soft for the track.
Understand that I have some experience driving purpose built, tube-frame race cars, which are far more stiff than ANY street car. I guess I am spoiled for that, and want the Z to feel similar on the track (but that is something difficult for a street car). I am willing to sacrifice street comfort to get the kind of handling I am looking for.

do you mean to confirm that the nismo T2 sways are re-badged 350evo's? they sure look the same.
someone asked that in another remote thread when the T2 sways came out and there was never any answer. it would be understandable if you can't answer that question. let the assumption continue

Well, I guess the decision was made for me. I called Tokico directly (Thanks, John and Daveh - your responses made me check to be sure). They said that the D-Specs are only good for 400-450 lb. springs, max.
I guess I will get the RS*Rs for now while I search for a decent but not too pricey coilover setup (is there such a thing?).
The setup that I had was okay with street tires, but with R-compound tires, the weaknesses are showing.
I looked at the Nismo T2 sway bars... but $875???? (That's a set of new tires!) If I ran the car competitively all the time on the open track, no problem, get the best. But this is just for fun, and I am trying to keep the cost reasonable. Even that is hard enough!

I hear that these parts help stiffen up the sway bars. They are included in the nismo sways, but you can get them seperately.

Does that price include the heim joints?
I definitely need a set of those, as with the OEM endlinks, you can run into the problem of the nut wiggling off and the sway bar disconnecting itself. It's happened to me twice thus far in 2005. And yes, locktight was applied...

Didn't know you knew Rob. Hope to see Rob run at Savannah & VIR this summer. Met Rob while helping Neal Sapp at a National. I just sent Rob my old front lip for his T2 car. How's the car coming? Has he found some Brembos yet? The NISMO sways ARE the 350Evo sways!
