Performance Nissan Brake Kit...

I was wondering what you guys think of this brake kit...
Do you think its good enough for track?
My Z is a daily driver that will see the track a few times... not too many though...
So what you guys think? Or should i just wait and spring for a Front BBK?

jason I think ran that setup for awhile with the standard brakes, can PM him what his feedback is.
IMO it might hold up fine for autox or slower road courses or if you don't push the car too hard on road courses.
You can also look into getting some brake air ducts
The stoptech or any BBK will obviously be the better way, but stoptech kits are $4500 which is quite a bit more than $575. Just how serious are you about road course driving?
The advantage the normal brakes have over BBK is they weigh less - so better handling and the lighter rotors mean less rotational mass. So handling and accelleration will be better than the stoptech kit, but you'll run into fade much sooner.
Getting the right pads and high temp brake fluid can really help the stock brakes from what I hear. You gotta change the brake fluid every 3 months or so to get use out of it's high temp capacity. After that (or depending on how much you track) it eventually starts being more like normal brake fluid

an alternative is to buy the stock brembo brakes from people selling theirs. They usually sel em for $1500-1600 or so.
Those will stand up much better - again especially if you get some good pads and fluid. SS lines help with pedal feel/consistency too as well as deflect some of the big waves of heat that the rubber lines let thru

You will probably get worse performance at the track putting that kit on. The reason why is the Hawk HPS brake pads. They are mearly a low dust street pad not a track pad. They will fade in no time. If you decide OEM brakes are good for you look for a good track pad and swap it in when you go to the track. I personally would wait for a front BBK. It will definitely out perform your OEM brakes at the track.
The HPS are lower performing brake pads than the OEM?
Wow... well, i talked to Jason yesterday and he says the setup would be good w/ Nismo brake pads instead of the HPS... and would be rdy for track but would be more than that Stoptech kit.
Im deciding between that kit w/ the nismo pads, and a BBK... most likely the BBK since it has way better resale.
Thanks for the responses guys... let me know if anyone has any experience w/ the kit and nismo pads... would be really informative!

I wouldn't be suprised if the HPS pads are worse than the stock brembo pads as far as tracking goes. They're better street pads from everything I've read. Just buy a set of HP+ pads for the track and HPS for street and you have the best of both worlds aside from the hassle of changing pads...

It's a great upgrade for the money. I have NO reason to get a BBK right now since I am not tracking my car. So Why spend 2 grand or more when I can spend alot less and get more upgrades and better braking.

Let us know when it comes out. I've been deciding back and forth between this and a BBK.
Thanks!

New rotors are cheaper when you compare how long they last to cost...
The initial purchase is more expensive... over time... they work out to be less...
