Default STI/Evo front Brembo caliper

Does anyone know if you can swap the STI or Evo front Brembo caliper for the Z front brembo caliper? The STI/Evo caliper is bigger then the Z and this would allow for some bigger pads.

Because the STI/Evo caliper would be a cheap junkyard find.

i have a friend whose family's junkyard just got a sti. the motor, tranny, brakes, and a bunch of other parts from it are all for sale. that'd be sweet if those calipers would fit, but it would suck for me to buy them and have them not fit.

Maybe they would let you do a test fit to see if they will work?

Yeah no kidding. See if they'd let you test fit them. I'm sure they would, since you're a family friend, and would buy it if they did fit. Plus we all wanna know!

I don't know about the STi, but I thought the Evo rotor was 12.6" compared to our 12.8. Also, I think the Evo is a different type of caliper, at least I think that's what I read. Like, isn't one a floating caliper, and one a fixed? I'm not sure what that means exactly, and which one is better, but I thought I read that somewhere.

350z Stock Brembo brake looks really cheap compared to STI or EVO.
But STI or EVO Brembo brakes look really cheap compared to Brembo Grand Turismo

If you look at the STI or EVO caliper, it looks pretty much to be the same caliper used. Maybe not exactly, but it is pretty close.

The floating you are referring to has to do with the rotor. But both the Z and the STI/EVO come with onepiece nonfloating rotors from the factory.

hmm...this would not be easy since i am in school in gainesville, and the junkyard is down in miami. however, i have another friend with a wrx who said he is thinking about buying the brakes, and if he does i'll end up installing them. so if he buys them i'll first test fit them on my car.
