You will not need a new spindle but the ball joint will need to be pressed out of it and out of the suspension arm for replacement..

These are pretty easy to remove on new cars. Once you remove the circlip, they can often be tapped out with a hammer.

blaah, unfortunatly our trademotion site is showing the wrong section for the spindle image...

here is an image from the real fast system...

This shows all of the parts that are available seperately ...

you can get the clip that holds the ball joint in, and the cone seat... thats about it :-/

That is the first 5 digits of the 10 digit number. Depending on the year (there are 2 different spindles) the last 5 are different...

The SOLID line that is connected to the first 5 digit number includes all of the parts...

So the part number includes the SPINDLE, BALL JOINT, and Clip Ring.

The only part number is available seperately is the clip ring...

Don't mean to hijac the thread, but it's obvious that ball joint can be seperated from the knuckle and the control arm as a whole. Nissan just doesn't carry it as an individual part..WOW, I can see having to replace the whole control arm, but a knuckle??? Damn, are the wheel bearings reusable or would he have to get new ones??

My apology for ranting, I just never heard that one before. AND, my apology again for jumping the gun on this one..

You can replace the ball joint... Yes, you acn do that no problem...

But, with these specific parts from nissan... For example... If the ball joint tears before your warranty is up, it will be replaced under warranty... The part that will be replaced is the full spindle... NISSAN can not be held liable for a new ball joint being falsely installed and causing an accident... With a fully assembled front spindle being replaced there are less things to be held liable for...

NISSAN does not sell any ball joints seperately (this goes for the upper control arms etc as well...)

If replaced with aftermarket parts, the consumer is fully liable for the install and that part... They are not approved from NISSAN...

So, if you want to buy a generic ball joint and replace with that you can, but it is not recommended from NISSAN...

very hard to find..

good luck..

I sell complete S14 Lower Control Arms to S13 owners just so they can pull out the ball joint and use in their S13 lower control arm and use with the S14 Spindle so they can run 5 lug hub kits... They buy the comlpete lower control arm since they give up on finding good ball joints that will work...
