Default HELP!!! Tein Flex w/ EDFC

Well I will be comming home for about a week (military) and have some Tein Flex w/EDFC I need to install. I have called some places here in NC and the going rate is $600 plus corner balence $75 -$150. I would rather do it myself with some help. I have tools, jacks, stands, lights, beer, more beer and a decent size garage. would like to do this on the weekend but can do it thru out the week after work. Would like someone who has a little bit of know how or has done this before. I will aso kick down $200 for the help. I understand it's a bit complicated thats why I am asking for the help. Com on guys "Support Your Troops!".

Is there a local community/website? Its been my experience that the local enthusiast communities are very willing to help out on installs. Really its not too hard although I don't know about the EDFC, but its at least worth trying yourself. Good luck.

its really easy to install coil overs on this car... especially since you do not have to remove the front upper mounts from the shock and compress the spring...

the EDFC is the bigger pain.. since you have to run wires through the car, pop off some body panels etc...

If no one is up for the challenge. Then tell me what you guys think.
I have not seen the instructions for the conections of the EDFC motors, but I am thinking doing the the coilovers and motors of the EDFC and having a good car audio shop do all the wire routing since thats there bread and butter. I would rather have someone who has done this help out.

I did this exact install about 2 months ago. The shocks are quite easy. Takes about 2-3 hours for the install. The EDFC took me another 3-4hours because I went very slow and carefully as I removed the interior panels. One thing that made it easier was having a dremel and several metal cutting wheels. You need to make a hole in the rear strut tower sheet metal big enough to pull the EDFC plugs up through. Also, put all the stepper motors on BEFORE you install the shocks.

I'd help out for beer if I was local to you. I'm interested in seeing your write-up on the install, since I'll be installing mine when I get around to buying them.

Well I finally got the darn things in. It took me 16 hours through out 3 days. I have never put a set on, so I took my time and looked things over, and double checked everything. If I were to do it agian it would take me no more than 2 1/2 hours to install the suspension. The EDFC is another story that thing is a pain in the A$$. I am getting the write up together with all the pics so a first grader and his friends can understand them. No more paying $350 - $600 for install. Easy install just very time consuming. I want to thank "350ZDcalb" for helping out with some short cuts. I will try to post my write up in the next few days.

Easy, just "time consuming" which is why it costs a lot of money to install. Time is money. I charge $400 to install coilovers + EDFC on the G35. It takes me about 5-6hrs to do.

Its going to take me a couple of days to get everything together (resizing pic ect..) I will include coilover install and how and where I ran the wires for the EDFC, routing / connecting wires, mounting the EDFC between the shifter and the AC controls, preparing the Tein Flex (i.e mounting the motors) and tools I used. Like GReddySetGO wrote "Easy, just time consuming". I agree time = $$$. If you have cash. and you can find a place that will do it for $400, that would be a very good deal. If you want to learn a bit about your Z, and save a little bit of $$$. I would do it yourself.

Hang in there guys, I am working late all week, so I will try my best to post it as soon as possible.

Its a totally diffrent car! It handles much better with a great ride not to harsh just right. I am getting the car corner balence this weekend. I took my car to Firestone to get it aligned, but they could not get it on the ramps, so I went to Home Depot to buy some 2x10's so they can get it up on the algnment rack. We will see how it goes tomarrow. Its worth every penny I spent ,$1700 with EDFC shipped NIB from a forum member that was selling it on EBay.
