nismo suspension and different springs?
Has anybody bought the whole nismo suspension setup and changed the springs to something different like teins or rs-r's, but still used the shocks and all the other parts that come along with it? If so please tell me what you used and what the result was from doing it. Did you like it? Thanks. Im affraid to buy this expensive setup and find out that height isn't low enough for me and then I would be stuck with the bill and wanting something else.

suposbly the fronts fit...
rears will fit no problem
(talkign springs)
I can get the shocks seperate... you will have to re-use your stock upper mounts... (same as what comes with nismo)

If you wanted to do this set up, I can work out a better price on the shocks only...

1. About half the price of the S-tune setup
2. ride height adjustability
3. The ability to use a softer spring rate if desired with the blessing of the tech's behind the desk at Tein (Basics can run +or- 56lbs in spring rate)
I would not try running different springs with S-tune shocks, not unless you picked from a list of spirngs that have specific spring rate ranges that were within a few percentage points of what S-tune spring rates are. The bigger catch that I see is that while a few aftermarket springs may have peak rates that are close to the S-tune rates, those springs have inital rates that are going to be far lower then the S-tune initial rates. Not sure how that might play on dampning behavior.
Tein Basics
504/504
S-tune 350Z spring rates (progressive, though not very much in the front, since maybe one coil will bind to effect a rate change)
448/504
Espelir 350Z springs (progressive, soft inital rates are unknown)
381/460
Kg/mm springs 350Z (here we can see the soft inital rates)
DRacing 30mm drop
252/454 front 252/482 rear
Tein S-tech 350z (fronts are progressive, rears are linear)
386/402
RSR 350Z springs (linear springs)
345/417
