Default TEIN coilover setup - shot springs???

I have had the Tein Basic Coilover setup for maybe 5,000 miles and now my car feels like it rides on bricks. Any minor defect in the road is like a bomb in the car. Are my springs shot with this setup or is it something else? Is it normal for this to happen after a while. If springs are shot, I'm assuming you can just order replacements from TEIN??

Hmmm...that's odd.

5k is not alot of mileage on those coilovers.

Did you check your alignment recently? Could be the camber is messed up so your coilovers are not loading properly?

alot of pot holes in MD huh?

check the spring seats make sure they are locked and nothing is moving around...

if its anything it would be the shocks, but that would be weird so soon...

this is interesting, i would say your valving is to high, however you dont haev that adjustment  so i guess it could be the colder weather causing the viscosity of the fluid to decrease

Just as Jason mentioned....it would typically be the shocks that would be worn. Check the shock assembly, specifically the rod area and see if its clean or if there is a lot of oil around it. If there is a lot of oil/dirt, then the shock is blown.

during the time when this happened, I could smell what could have been oil coming from the suspension over and over. It was a very obvious smell..

wow, seems like blown shocks to me too, just from what you've said... 5k is disturbing... you should talk to the shop you bought them from and see if they can talk to someone at tein and get em replaced... thats lame.
